Everyone poopooing this novelization, why?? There is so much more story in this. There are unpackings of character traits, motivations, and so many details wonderfully described. And Gates is always excellent. Well done, Dillard! I'm glad you were brought on to write this one.

I love it when the stars read the books. The Star Trek IV The Voyage Home, as read by George Takei is hilarious when he is trying to do Scotty's voice!!!

The attack took place on April 4th, NOT April 6th. First contact took place the next day on April 5th as was stated at the end of the drama.

I remember when in early Southpark group of aliens landed on Earth, wanting to establish first contact.. They´ve encountered lions as the representative creatures. Lions ate them.. I mean, greeted them in the most energetic way they´ve could.

When reading the book for the recording, is Gates using an accent? Within the first few seconds, when she said Picard’s name, I heard her say ‘Picod.’ And, is the recording messed up? I’m hearing it skipping around

K Gohel most novelizations don't. The author usually gets an old version of the script so that the books comes out at the same time as the movie. The script is usually changed by the time they start filming.

Holy crap this is horrible! The writing is so fucking bad. I know this is free, but I'd pay 29.95 for them to take this down. I don't even know how you can mess this up so bad. Isn't this supposed to basically just be the movie in book form? Why is the movie so good, and this so bad? I hope Gates got a fortune for doing this, because it might have cost her her soul.

You have it backwards, it was the movie, made from the book.... Book first, and then the movie... As in all movies for the most part.. I was entertained, knowing what was going on from the movie... All in all it was good, especially for free...

@@N9IUR Hi. Unless you can back up the idea that someone wrote a book, and then they read the book and thought, great movie idea, and only then wrote a screenplay. then I'm afraid not. I have just spent time reading several websites, and as far as i can tell, Berman, Braga, and Moore totally came up with this idea for a movie first. Now keep in mind that it might have gotten novilized and published pre movie release, but the book is still 100% based off the screenplay. Prove me wrong though if you can and I will happily admit that I am wrong, because why would I not. In the end though, and I know it's just my opinion, I have once again listened to some of this clip, and it's just brutal. Simply brutal. If I had to listen to this on a road trip, I would drive off a cliff. But to each their own I guess. Cheers.
