The ideas for candy switch/buy-back were GENIUS! I love finding ways to motivate kids. And also to teach repurpose-reuse-recycle. You two are SO adorable. I don't even need a Halloween skirt. But now I WANT one like yours!! 🍬 🎃 👻

Aw thank you so much! We definitely love options for trading candy out of the house :) And we can't remember where Kitt's skirt is from, but we fully support you getting a Halloween skirt!

Great tips! You brought back so many memories when my kids were little! Halloween was my older son's fav holiday when he was a kid. I made the mistake :-) of making him a costume when he was really little to save $$ (he wanted to be a spider!), so it became a tradition to make him something every year! Oh the nightmares of sewing the gold lame collar for the green power ranger! Then when he was an adult I made him some cosplay outfits! Ironically, his younger brother only wanted store bought costumes! Although, he did ask me to make him some cosplay costumes. Adding embellishments to thrift store pieces makes it much easier than starting from scratch! One other tip would be to make sure every child had identification on them along with their parent's cell phone number should they get separated or lost! Happy Halloween!!

Thank you so much Nancy! How fun that you did handmade costumes for your son, he was quite lucky :) And we love the idea of adding on to thrift store items - that sounds like the perfect mash-up.
