agree with the list. Only thing missing i'd say is a buff. Quite a handy and versatile bit of kit! :)

100% agree with you Nic! I was wearing my buff on my run this morning, kicking myself for not having added it to this list. They're exceptional bits of kit, so easy to pack too 🙏

A superb selection of kit Craig. Completely agree with all these selections mate maybe not so much the poles but other than these are some really essential bits of kit. 😎🤘

Cheers mate! For me, I am very picky about using poles. Only where there's tonnes of climbing like a mountain ultra, but I usually say no to them as they're more hassle to carry than the benefits they give. Always good to have the option though! Cheers fella 🙏

I love my new trail trainers. I would not buy waterproof ones because if I had deep puddles,I would want the water to drain out. ( had some soggy parkruns lately)

Great list. I might have missed it but I always have a loud rescue Whistle with me.

Thanks! Yeah, a whistle was touched on briefly in number 11 'safety gear.' highly recommended

Blimey. Road running seems a simple sport by comparison 😂

It sure does 😂 To be fair, some of these are more discretionary than others like the poles and the earphones but yeah you generally need more gear to stay safe and perform well in trail running in my opinion

Can you also share your recommendation of light weight waterproof running jackets? :) @runningcafe1

Hey, I mainly use the halo OMM jackets. I have the one which is 10000mm hydrostatic head, is 100g and if scrunches tighter than a tennis ball. Expensive but I quite like it and it will get you past minimum kit requirements for most ultra marathons
