How do you get where is no rotor?

You don't. It is part of the fun. We take a guess and work hard to keep the wing open. This is the reason I train SIV and Acro.

@@MrTozuyi I want to get your tecnique of avoiding rotor zones. How to you guess it? Do you see clouds and wind by them or just keep flying on sunny sides? How long do you fly in this area, do you know what wind direction will be in the canyons?

@@EARAISED There are several zones which can create heavy turbulence: valley wind lees, meteo wind lees, everything around strong thermals (8ms+), thermal top (cloud base or inversions), north/south overpreassure induced lees, föhn. Lees with stable air masses are to avoid (mostly valley wind lees and föhn). Strong thermals should be entered with caution and enough altitude over ground. Depending on the location valley wind can reach altitudes of more than 2000 meters. You collect these information during the preparation and the flight and base your guesses on it. In order to understand valley wind and the basic principles I suggest visiting a XC course like the one from x-dreamfly.ch. After that you have to explore the air on your own. An enjoyable, rough flight for me might be a total disaster for somebody else. The progress can be accelerated if you can join experienced pilots or competitions. I have around 500h of airtime. I also advocate to step down glider classes in case the guessing goes wrong: for a B-Wing you should be comfortable flying full stalls over the ground, for a C-Wing it should be Helis (with the XC Wing of course).
