I love the battleship use. For some reason in these big orbital games people always seem to spam laser platforms, but Omegas seem so much more versatile

When it comes to multiple planets I think people underestimate the power of orbital units. Can simply send to other planet then back to land directly on top of a commander.

When people launch planets my heart always starts racing. Good players will send at one planet to make you feel safe or move, but then last minute send to a different planet that you maybe moved to.

I remember playing this with some friends in PvP... We were winning, we had it in the bag, but we decide on a grand finale and one of us preps halleys on one of these little planets like in this game and sends it at them. We all seat there watching in anticipation of our assured victory as we know where to hit it. Victory is assured! It will be a blast! A planetary blast! But then, suddenly... Something strange happens. Something unexpected... It crashes into *our* - full sized - planet... Exactly where all our commanders are. Silence ensues. For a while, no one says anything over TeamSpeak. Not a word written by our talkative opponents in chat. Just utter... Shock. Then cries of utter disbelief join written expression of laughter in chat. To this day we remember it with a meme, as "The Triple Facepalm Disaster". It was funny.

Damn dude, that was impressive! It's interesting how much difference the lack of Shields, and the Orbital layer, makes, compared to others in the genre. It makes "defense" in PA mostly about dodging the Com around, rather than sitting under a ton of Shields. I do think Orbital unit stacking is an issue for PA. Everything else has counter-play, but you really can't stop a giant swarm of Battleships from wrecking everything at the landing site. It upsets the balance of having so many options when one stands out so clearly above the others. If the game has Shields that would help, but I think giving air and orbital units some collision, to set a max density, would have been the best solution. Ground units have it, afterall. And it's not like you can infinitely stack defensive buildings, nor would it prevent the incoming damage, even if you could.

Orbital stacking can be somewhat countered by nukes, as everything directly over the nuke gets blown to kingdome come. Bit of a scorched earth tactic, but can work in a pinch

I agree it could use some balancing.

Watch your gameplay after each match. You will see what you did wrong. Also get radar up and scout. If you see an attack coming then you know what you need for defensive structures or counter units. Also just watch very closely how myself and others start off each match. A good build order at the beginning can really help.

@@gambiter I hit a point where I get a brain freeze. I cant decide what to build next After watching this video, mass orbital is definatly the way. But the limiting factor is map size with resourses. Easy to spam on a 12 planet map Anti nukes are a deciding factor for sure

Thanks for checking in. I understand why this may not be entertaining from a visual perspective. This game is not graphics focused, but rather how to strategize and outperform an opponent. Think of it as real time chess rather than turn based. Chess pieces themselves are not too exciting.

@@gambiter they were charging some ridculous price like £95 to try and raise more money basically. Titans was a relaunch of the game that they wouldnt have to give to their kickstarter backers for free. The orignal felt like it had been in early access before the stand alone titans expansion was released so you can imagine people were p***** off.
