I keep returning to this channel because Matthew Peech puts out some of the best overall woodworking videos. His editing is excellent and his videos are always concise and without any unnecessary fillers that so many other creators throw in (to me, there is nothing worse when people carry on thinking they are amusing and humorous when they clearly are not). Also, M. Peech seems to be that neighbor next door who is always willing to offer words of wisdom or help. Not only these, but the guy also is showing so many ways for people to make money on his builds and does so where just about anyone can follow along.

As a traveling master electrician I have spent many years working all over KY, probably spent about 10 years in KY. Worked with a fella years ago from Hazard. That boy kept me in stitches, don't remember his name but he went by the name Hillbilly. He sounded just like Larry the Cable Guy, when no one had heard of Larry. I do agree Matthew is a treasure. Concerning impacts my dewalt that I've ran for years has a pushbutton recessed chuck. So it is extremely compact with all 3 speeds as well. Got a heck of a deal at HD up close to Ft Knox. From face to rear it is smaller then the Milwaukee 12v impact. Panel lifter, se a ⅜"or ½" dowel to make a 3½" toggle. Drill a hole in the center and put on a piece of paracord about 8' may need to adjust for height. Add a 6" long piece of pvc pipe. Tie the paracord in a loop. You can then use the toggle around your belt fed back through the paracord. The pvc is the handle after running paracord under the panel. Can then carry em anywhere under your arm. All granted that you're tall enough to do this in the first place.

I’m so glad I saw this video! I inherited my Dads workshop. There are so many tools I have no idea what they are or how to use them. I have a couple of those thickness guides you showed at the end. Now I know! I have old equipment. Ever heard if a ShopSmith from the 50’s? I have a lathe the size of your adjustable table you received as a gift. One thing is the plugs scare me. I need to find out how maybe I should replace the plugs. They are all workhorses. I have drill press, routers, band saws, table saw (huge cast iron contractor saw), every Dremel tool including the very first one. What do I do with them all? I actually can’t wait! I go to Home Depot and go up and down the isles seeing if I can match up with something I have. It’s like a candy store!! Happy New Year!

Love your channel, it brings back great memories of working in the shop with my step-father. He would have loved some of these gadgets. If you live near a printing press for daily papers, or have a friend that works there, they will have lots of 'end rolls' left over from printing. They will eaither recycle or trash them, so check and see if you can get them free or cheap. They would work for a craft paper sub (it will be a little thinner unless you chance upon some premium paper rolls). These can be used for table protctors, moving (since there isn't any ink that will transfer to things like dishes), school banners, paper mache, etc.

I bought rubber horse stable mats from Rural King for my shop floor. They are durable and relatively cheap. $40 for a 4' x 6' x 3/4" mat. They can take a lot of abuse from a horse, so it is good enough for me. They are soft enough to stand on for long periods of time, yet firm enough to roll equipment around on them.

I've been super impressed over the years and the impact has 3 speeds plus a trim sensor which definitely makes the tool alot more versatile. 😀👍 Overall throughout the years Kobalt (now Craftsman I believe) has treated me pretty darn good I'd have to say. 😁

I just stumbled across the sanding pad saver grip things the other day. I had no idea they even existed. I wish they had something like this for the old stick on sandpaper we used on the old sanders! The hook and loop set up is the best thing ever invented for woodworkers. I have a panel lift tool, but you have to place it on the bottom edge of the 4x8 sheet. Like you, I used to be able to pick up 3/4” plywood sheets easily, but no longer, so not sure what made me think I could do it with the panel lift tool I bought. That Kreg panel lift is awesome and I’ll pick one of those up! Thanks for the reviews.

When you talked about your Dewalt impact driver, a very deep sense of regret washed over me. As a pricing pro on a merchandising team, I watch for massive price cuts on tool clearance. When they hit, I buy them up and resell them. Recently, I found a Dewalt compact hammer drill impact drill combo with regular and max batteries for just $37. I bought all 4 on hand and didn't keep a set for myself. While I made a pile of cash reselling, now I'll have to spend big money to get one for myself and I just figured out that I need one 😢

3M Cubitron sand-paper is available in 2.75" wide rolls that have perforated tear-lines, that produce squares of 2.75", and are in different common sanding grits; 40, 60, 80, 180, 220(probably 120 also, but we don't use the 60 or 120 in our body shop.)For sanding blocks with suction used on the Mobile Festool Sanding Stations.
