Just like u, I’ve wondered many times about the naming of children & why they are actually called what they’re called. When my sister & I were born my grandpa gave us nicknames. Jo was for Wanda & John was for me. Her name stuck but mine didn’t bc my grandpa was the only person that called me that. How I would love to hear him call me John just one more time. Thank u Granny Pat for sharing your beautiful stories with us. May God bless u & keep u always. ❤

Jan Elizabeth is beautiful. And I completely understand. I wanted my Daughter to have an easy, yet beautiful name as well. I had my Daughter in 2008. She’s going to be 15 this October. She’s our only Child. But when was trying to pick out a name for her. Every name I picked wasn’t good enough for my Dad. 😂 Her Papa was not going to let me name her any name that could be picked on in any way! So I remembered a name that I had alway’s loved and remembered in the back of my mind. I got it from the Actress Reese Witherspoon. She named her Daughter Ava. I thought it was the prettiest name and it was short, easy to spell. I knew my Daughter’s Middle name was going to be Mae. That was my Best Friend’s Middle name and I just loved it. So I called my Mom, then my Dad and then my little Brother. They ALL loved the name Ava Mae G. ❤ Little did o know how fast that name spread from Social media… I swear I couldn’t believe that I thought I was going to have a unique Baby name for her. And they stole it. So many Women started naming their Daughter’s Middle name Mae too out of the blue. It was an old name. But I still love her name so much. By the way I really enjoyed your stories about the names of your Family. It’s amazing that your Mom had 13 babies and she was in her 40’s and still had babies. I am 35 almost 36. I’d love to have a Son. And it’s so inspiring hearing about how your Mom kept having babies well into her 40’s! Thank you for sharing. ❤❤❤

Joan, I have friends named DeAnna and spell it such. I can never like the name Inez because of a woman I know with that name who is mean, hateful, despicable and a know-it-all. It is because of her not because of the name. The very saddest names I’ve ever heard were from when I worked at a Medical School clinic in Louisiana. I registered patients. There was an elderly African American man named Failure. 😢 Then there was a patient who named her twin girls Gonorra and Siphyra. Not sure how she spelled it but they were pronounced amazingly like two STD diagnoses. I just shook my head. Poor babies. Just sharing. Have a good evening.

I must add: Jan almost became a ‘Robin’ until I noticed all the girls being born were named Robin. Jan was given Elizabeth for my mother. Also, Jan’s daughter has my mother’s name, Mollie Elizabeth. To me, it is the prettiest name I know. When i started the list of siblings, I was concentrating mostly on the girls. I forgot to include my older brother, Howard, who was killed during WW2. I never knew why he wasn’t given a middle name. My grandfather called him ‘Junebug’. He would tie strings to the legs of junebugs, and Howard would fly them round and round. The nickname ‘Bug’ stayed with him the rest of his life. Regarding the 3 stillborn babies, they were called ‘bluebabies’. This was due to the missmatch rh factor of blood between my parents. It would take awhile to explain, lots of medical terms! The rest of us kids were lucky to have survived. Mother rh O-neg, father, Positive.

Another interesting topic for discussion…you make everything so interesting and thought provoking. My sister was named Prudence after a favorite fictional character. She hated her name but Mother had given that name lovingly. (Incidentally my Mother’s was named Elizabeth too…She was called Liz by family. Her namesake Elizabeth was called Beth).

Recently found your channel and am watching older videos. My friend Lynn was actually named Gertrude. I was one of the few people she told in her lifetime. Also surprised to hear you say your son's name is Gregory! That is my husband's name!

Granny Pat, I love all your vids and I am excited because I ordered all 3 of your books. I also bought the kindle to read that you and your daughter did. It's really good and interesting. Keep them coming. :)

Oh I know I will be. If they're anything like your stories you tell about on youtube, I will love them all. There is nothing as good as a good book to read.@@chitchatwithgrannypat7900

Pat, I enjoy your videos. I don't think your monetized because there are no ads. Most KZitem videos have ads.

I know what you are saying. They are starting to pay me. I haven’t figured it out yet. Before I started monetizing, I was seeing ads.
