It doesn't just trace you, it records 'everything'. Even if you power it down, it's recording. The lack of removable batteries isn't accidental. For those who think that's paranoid, power yours down, and have a long conversation near it on topics you usually don't talk about. Give it about 5 to 15 hours. Then watch your youtube video suggestions and amazon product suggestions. They don't even try to hide it anymore. It even works if the phone is merely owned by someone on your contact list instead of your own phone. Why do you think the state department is so bent out of shape about having chinese made cell phones in secure areas?

My best friend pushed me into archery hunting years ago. It became a passion, competition and a mission that pushed us to many guys weekends exploring new terrain and opportunities in the Bush and having a great time even if we never laid eyes on a deer. My friend was a badness of Hawaiian decent. Short dude but beastly. I have no doubts of how his people concurred the South Pacific lol. He lived hard and fast, tragically passed away from a massive heart attack at the age of 43. That was two summers ago working on the roof of a school in August here in the south eastern US. His memory has faded somewhat from my everyday but when you took down that doe I exploded haha! I thought of Patrick, the great camping/hunting trips we had and wished he were still here. I would have loved to send him a link to that one. Good job, thanks man 👍

Those that dismiss any tool at hand only sabotage themselves. In a grid down or SHTF event, assuming theres some form of tracking signal that airplane mode doesnt disable, that the towers are still working to receive it, and that someone is there to listen for, that tiny blip on their map staying at home minding its own business or out in the middle of nowhere isnt going to be worth diverting manpower away from crowd control. As far as apps not covered go, stellarium is good. Tuning meters are handy for carving bushcraft flutes or other instruments. Being able to carry an entire library on something the size of a postage stamp has great education and morale value as well. Phones are a device everyone is expected to have. So tough cases for them make great places to hide other small tools as well.

This could be handy, depending on the situation. But 'smart-anything' tracks & records everything you do or say. Even when powered down. If you're trying to survive a blizzard or something, that's not a concern.
