Good stuff, some of them I try to follow without knowing the chengyu. It's almost like a religion. I wonder if there is an idiom of not taking everything to heart or seriously. It might already be implied with that list already as an interpretation.

对牛弹琴is more to describe talking to someone that lack of ability to understand the content. To describe reason with the unreasonable, 秀才遇见兵 is much closer.
