I carry .380 everyday. Everything from the Taurus spectrum to lcp max or g28. .380 is definitely enough to get the job done. In the winter months, I’ll occasionally wear a 9mm owb so it’s more concealable. Just picked up the newest sar9 sc in ODG, talk about a sweet handgun. When it comes to handguns, I don’t spend over $500 for one. There are plenty of reliable and quality handguns for $500 or lower.

Capacity craze shouldn’t even be a thing. Everyone thinks single stacks are outdated and useless. They’re wrong, since they leave out the idea that double stacks will never (ever) be as thin as single stacks. Everything has a purpose and single stacks purpose is to be thin. You have no choice but to go thicker with double stack, there is no middle ground, it is one or the other. I agree just having something on you is best

The Kahr PM9 is another criminally underrated CCW pistol. Extremely small and lightweight for a 9mm. People don’t give the trigger a chance. It’s like a finely tuned double action revolver trigger. And arguably that’s the kind of trigger you want for a defensive firearm. I doubt I’ll ever stop rotating between my PM9 and my S&W 442 Performance Center.

Thank you so much for your work, Spin. Yours is mya favorite channel for ccw overall. I own >15 handguns for carry and rotate most of them. One of the recent jewels was S&W EQUALIZER - it’s just incredible - super reliable , crazily precise, ultra safe, light and very concealable, superb sight radius and 4” of barrel - it’s just the work of art!. Great trigger. More to it, I can easily rack it with 1 hand using my grip only, if I’m wounded. More to it - it has an unbelievably low recoil for it’s size (like you shoot 380) and it’s quite affordable and has a great value - currently with SW rebates one can find it for a mere 350!!!! I shoot it much better than all of my micros, including 3” and 4” versions of Shield Plus and better than most of my subcompacts. So, I wonder, is there a specific reason you prefer not to talk about Equalizer? Have you reviewed it on your channel? I’m really curious about your opinion on that. It had great reviews and some of the prominent reviewers put it as the best one along 1-2 others. Thank you for letting us know your opinion on that. PS People sometimes bash it for 2 things I listed below, and I think those opinions are quite emotional / irrational / non-pragmatic/ “pseudo-elitist”: 1)It’s super easy racking, so they think that therefore it’s for beginners, women, senior folks and people with compromised grip strength. Whereas it definitely can help to those categories, it doesn’t mean that all of us can’t enjoy it’s amazing performance and reliability. Again, it’s been my most accurate micro / subcompact, so it says a lot. 2)It has a grip safety, so some snobs are trying to avoid it. I’m all for added safety and love the grip safety - it never fails, works perfectly on all of my XDMs, EZ and Equalizer - those are all super reliable guns, and we don’t have a recorded history of those safeties failing - people just like to compain about it because they read it somewhere without any data. It’s a pure snobism. If anything, they could (and I would understand and support it a bit better) complain about the thumb safety - that’s a real concern, as during stressful self - defense situation people often forget to engage it and lose their seconds and potentially, lives. Grip safety is a brilliant idea, you can’t forget about it , it works FLAWLESSLY , one of the most iconic handguns - 1911s are still using it and no one complains and even tries to get rid of it -> it means it’s a rock solid mechanism and IT JUST WORKS. Thanks.

I bought the Stoeger STR-9MC based in part on your review. You mention in this video and a previous one, that the STR-9MC can accept magazines from their big brothers. Technically this is true, but I found the STR-9 magazines (15 rounds) will not reliably feed. The problem is the lack of spring tension. Micro compacts need VERY stiff springs (which the STR-9 mags do not have). As a work around (and since Wolff doesn't sell extra strength springs for Stoegers), I tried 2 different fixes: 1) I bent a CZ-75 magazine spring into a shape that matched the STR-9 springs. 2) I bought a second set of STR-9 springs and laid one on top of the other, resulting in double the spring tension. Happily, both solutions resulted in reliable feeding in the STR-9MC. Option 2, however, reduced the capacity of the 15 round mag to 13 rounds.

Since your title is “underrated handguns for concealed carry,” I have to disagree with you about the H&k. It is a brick with a hammer. It is extremely difficult to conceal, heavy, and blocky. In a market where thin, small, high capacity, striker-fired, concealable pistols are king, the H&K misses the mark with every point. If anything, it is overrated… for concealed carry.
