What a refreshing change, I love watches but everyone forgets about the good old cheap, made to not care if u damage it range. Some great tips here. In my line of work I know a load of guys who have to have the toughest latest 1000 meters , a depth that no one is ever gonna use unless you are an oil worker and need to go down to 1000 ft to fix a line dressed in a one million pounds underwater space suit. All u need is reliable time and date if digital, not so important if analog, that’s not gonna fall apart on your wrist. That’s truly all u need, when it gets busted. Throw it away or give it to ur kid. Simple n easy. Well done.....and a lot of these could easily be mistaken for something much more expensive 👍

When Eyal Lalo first bought Invicta and was making the 40mm diver with Swiss ETA movements and doing it in Switzerland, they weren’t to bad. They were still homage watches, but at least they were made pretty decent. I’ve owned and worn Rolex, Gerard-Perregaux, Omega, IWC, Tudor, Tag, Longines, Chopard and Hamilton watches, and my best friend, who was a jeweler, loved watches and cheap watches. He gave me an Invicta 40mm diver for Christmas one year in the mid 90’s. I wore it for a while since it was a gift from my best friend, but soon was wearing a Rolex again. He called me a watch snob, but I told him that it wasn’t snobbery, it’s about quality. Sure that Invicta kept time to a decent degree, but it was the fit and finish. Ron, my buddy, die a few years ago, and I still have that watch he gave me. I may never wear it again, but it represents a friendship, not just a cheap watch. When I buy a watch or I’m given a watch, I don’t usually ever part with them. I think I have 63 watches a present. More than so, fewer than others.

A great range of ‘affordable’ watches. A must watch video. I’m also beginning to discover that price is no longer an indicator of quality. High spec watches that were once out of reach of the average person are now available to all - for a variety of reasons. I think what your video demonstrates is putting aside brand snobbishness and approaching the watch world with an open mind, together with some sensible and diligent research can bring some amazing and often surprising rewards. And all on a sensible budget.

Another option to the Cadisen are the Nakzen SL7002 or SS7002 models. They have the same Miyota 9015 movement, and can be found for just under $100. BTW - The Guanqin GJ16034 was being sold on some sites with the Miyota 8205 in place of the Seiko NH36A. Apparently, there was a shortage of the Seiko movements, and Guanqin produced at least one batch using the Miyota instead.

I thought the same thing as I think I remember seeing at least 3 individual watches for around $125 plus there were a couple brands I think where a range was given that started at $125 and went higher. I have a lot of watches and to me there is a big difference between a watch under $100 and a watch $125+. Watches under $100 are typically fun watches that I buy based more on the look for a specific style that I wear for 2-3 years than give away or sell whereas watches over $125 I buy are more of a serious purchase that I plan to keep in my collection longer term.

I'm folllowing your advice, but it's not just yours--a lot of your KZitem peers are on the same page. Just bought my first new watch in over 13 years, an Orient Tristar Day Date automatic for $90. Having this guy with its polished stainless bracelet means I don't have to swap leather straps to match my belt when I wear a suit. This one is non-hacking. I'm wearing it right now. Had to adjust the deployant clasp all the way down, but I think that's going to be snug enough for my preference (I like a little bit of "play.") So far so good. I have a green SNK805 inbound as well.

I wore an Invicta pro diver daily for years, including a lot of water time, as I live in Florida. I got really good service out of it. The worst thing about it is the lume. It really sucks, but for the price, it's hard to beat...and it has a Seiko NH35 movement, which I think is better than the 7S26 and 7S36 in my actual Seikos.

Thank you for doing this video and I encourage you to do more in the lower price ranges! Luxury watches, IMO are more for guys who seem to either feel the need to spend a LOT of money on a watch or they are really into jewelry. However, to me a watch really has one function: telling time. All men should have an everyday watch and a 'dress up' watch. Having said that, I only look at my dress up watch when I am going to wear a suit. I love some of the watches you reviewed here and I won't feel bad buying one of these 'lookers' for under $100. THANKS!

I have a few of the watches mentioned in the video. The Casio Duro dive watch and the Seiko 5 SNKL23 (my favorite!) as well as a SNK807K2. As far as a watch I'd recommend that's not on the list, I'd go with the Casio WVAM640D-1A Wave Cepter solar atomic watch. Its original MSRP was $160 but nowadays you can pretty much find it anywhere well under $100. It has both analogue and digital elements but keeps it simple and elegant for those that want to be geeky while being subtle about it. The only real negative is the somewhat visible plastic case but otherwise it's a great looking watch that's functional as well.

My favorite(s) in this price range: Skagen Denmark 233XLTTN Grenen Titanium and Gray Steel-Mesh Watch $93 USD and sadly out of production, the classic Timex Ironman Triathlon Indiglo watch. I own both of these, although my daily wear is a Citizen Eco-Drive PCAT E650. I love the atomic clock accuracy, and perpetual calendar functions, along with never needing a battery, or winding. Granted, it doesn't fit the sub-$100 category. I do wear the Skagen quite frequently, and the Ironman stays in the watch display. The Skagen's mesh band and ultra light weight Ti case warm to body temperature almost instantly, makign it very easy to forget you're even wearing it. I've had mine for over a decade now, and still looks sharp as can be.

I recently bought an Invicta Pro Diver at $120 (pricier for the brand’s flame fusion crystal) and I’m absolutely IN LOVE with it. I don’t care about all the hate it receives. My watch isn’t a homage to any Rolex I know, its Seiko movement loses about 3 to 7 seconds per day which isn’t bad imo, does it job regarding water resistance, it’s in fact very scratch resistant and it looks really, really beautiful. 10/10 reccomended!

Teddy, I may have suggested this once before, but here goes. The subconscious mind processes everything that comes it's way. When we use the fraze "let me be honest with you or if I was honest", it is asking what have you been telling me up tell now. I see you now have a store as well as videos. Customers want frank info and answers about your watches and service and that would be the fraze I would suggest "let me be frank with you". Your being forthcoming and as always honest. Keep up the great work, and by the way it's a good fraze to use with wives or girlfriends. Their sub. looks at every word you say to them. Lance

I feel exactly as you do on Invicta. Most of the lineup doesn't even deserve the time of day (play on words intended), but the Pro Diver is a good value watch, and a good recommendation to those who just want one in their lives to match most occasions.

agreed, a friend got me one for christmas few years back, it definitely a solid watch for the money, if it didnt have the invicta logo you would think it was more $$$

I’m with you, Teddy. I have a small wrist and can’t wear lots of watches that I would be interested in. Many are so large that they’re gaudy, even on a larger wrist. I keep hoping smaller watches will come back in style. . .

hey everyone, i need a little help if possible, I am looking at a Seiko Solar Le Grand Sport watch on ebay. In doing a little digging, it must be an older model because it isn't on Seiko's website. But in doing just a google search it seems pretty hard to find. also the dial ( i think its called) has a blue stone, and the few that I have seen have a black, is this a warning sign? the only other thing that kinda scares me is that, on the back of the watches, the set of 6 numbers usual tell me when the watch was manufactured correct? but this set of numbers starts with a 62, which if its a date, is impossible.

Depends how much you use the extra features like alarm or if your Casio has a backlight. Battery will still last about five years if you use the alarm and and stopwatch functions that beep a lot. Less so if you are always using the backlight, I found. But batteries are cheap.

Watching this video three years on, I am pleased you stayed with your name, as the channel moniker as I can see after going through your videos , ie I only was aware of your Good self in the last two weeks, and to get back to the point you are a sound and genuine (from what i see) person which makes this channel, at the risk of sounding sycophantic, it is a pleasure being along for the ride. It's worth it to discuss some different watches than the Seiko 5's. I have had my Seiko SNK369 (which looks amazing on a leather strap), but it is just getting a lot less precise, as well as not being as durable as i thought. After dropping the watch once (on accident) from 2-3ft, the accuracy is getting a tad worse as well as the power reserve which i think is a shame for the S5 brand being marketed as durable watches. Still a lot of great watches in seiko 5's though!

Awesome video. I really enjoyed it. I would like to see more videos like this one. Teddy, I work around really wealthy people. But sadly I don't make very much money. Could you recommend a good watch that looks like a wealthy man's watch. On a poor mans price? These people do notice watches and things like that. Sad but true, Thanks.

That is why I made this video. As someone who loves luxury watches sometimes it is easy to forget that people aren’t blessed with this same curse. For most, $100 is a lot to spend on a watch. I will do more content like this in the future. Great video idea btw.

Maybe think about vintage? I picked up a vintage Gruen not terribly long ago on ebay for 35 bucks. It's not mint, but it is certainly a good looking piece. Also, Sean Connery wore one in Dr. No.

I like channels that are named after the person. When I talk to my friends I talk about the person anyway, so if the channel is named after the person, it's easier to remember and to search for.
