Sun salutations are at the core of vinyasa yoga. Most traditional practices begin with sun salutations (surya namaskar) before moving into other yoga postures. The fun part is that we can adapt sun salutations to suit our personal practice, making the sequence more focused on strength, power, or flexibility. In this morning yoga flow, I chose to focus on femininity and the lunar side of yoga.
By dedicating our practice to our feminine side, we are opening ourselves up to more receptivity to what the day brings us. We absorb the energy that we build during this practice, giving us a solid foundation from which to continue our day. We move quickly and gracefully in this class, building heat for strength and flexibility. It's a beautiful way to start the day and is perfect for women. See you on the mat!
