Thank you for your question sir, and although I am not an expert with punch bag weights, I will try to answer from my own experience: The punch bag I use weighs about 45kg (100lbs) which I have found is good for my body weight (90kg / 200lbs) and needs. It moves when I hit it but not too much. Much heavier and it is hard to move around (if you need to hang it up, or put it away regularly). I used to have a 30kg (65lb) bag but that was too light and it fly around a bit too much when kicking it! In general, a lighter (and/or thinner) bag will move more when you hit it which can be good for training some movement at the same time as striking. And a heavier bag will stay still more, meaning you can concentrate more on training power / combinations / striking endurance... I hope this helps a little!
