@@russellwestbrook1900 I honestly think a lot of kids have been brainwashed by NBA 2K, in addition to talking heads in the media just constantly blurting out surface level cumulative stats. He made the teams he was on worse. Even when he was with George, Anthony, or Paul, they still couldn't make it out of the first round. Did he lead his team to win like LeBron, Dirk, Doncic? What good are all the accomplishments when it was done with empty stats? The NBA is finally seeing him for what he is. To you guys its like a video game. Every game you play, you're trying to get an A+ rating in those statistical categories, so you're essentially playing for stats. In the game, it also works towards winning, because it's so easy and unrealistic. At the end, you're rewarded with an MVP and whatever other awards. So then an entire generation grew up brainwashed into thinking that's what good basketball is.

The amount of disrespect and scrutiny Westbrook went through during this season was off the charts. From the basketball media, LA media, Lakers fans (who booed him multiple times), LeBron fans, other NBA players even, etc. All of that have to be playing with Russel's head and definitely affected his game in a negative way. Not all players play better under the stress or scrutiny, some become worse under such pressure.

Bruh, Russ has always been a historically-low BBIQ, stat-chasing, low-skill, hyper-athletic point guard. That's who he is and barring the hyper-athletic part, he's never added to his game. He's always made these dumb plays on offense and especially defense his entire career. He's always stat-padded at the cost of making the right basketball play. Fuck, he can't even be bothered to stay with his guy. He'd rather leave his man wide open to go hunt for steals or rebounds even in a close game. I don't want to insult the man personally but on the court, there's probably no dumber player in the NBA. Shows how much being that athletically gifted can do even on the best league in the world. When you've been that way your entire career, that's not "disrespect" or "scrutiny" anymore. That's just calling you for what you are. Russ making this many boneheaded plays is almost solely because of him being unwilling to learn how to play the game even semi-intelligently. The disrespect and scrutiny was fully earned after a decade plus of low BBIQ. Now that he's no longer one of the two most athletic point guards to ever play the game along with D. Rose and he's forced to play in another system other than "fuck the system, just give me the ball", he can't do much else on the court.
