I know about it some things by reading series of books called Percy (Perseus) Jackson. he missed one of the strongest n most terrifying monsters but I forgot the name ;-; it's a really big giant that looks like a hurricane to the human eyes and it almost beat all the gods once until they trapped him somehow I'll search it up in one of the books xP I think it's there. I think these Greek stories are really interesting :) , and in a combination of these modern days stuff it's even better. That's what made Percy Jackson such a great book x3. And by the way there is the first book movie. not sure about the second

Medusa was originally a virgin priestess of Athena. However, Poseidon wanted her as his. She kept refusing him, and one day he had enough. He raped Medusa, causing her to lose her virginity. Athena found this out, however, Poseidon was one of the main three, so what was Athena supposed to do to him? So, in response, she punished Medusa, kicking her out as a priestess, and causing her to become a gorgon, removing her beauty, and punishing her to be the evil beast she is now known as.

+Dominick civitello Also on this subject, the cyclops was intoxicated, and went to sleep. They then snuck up on him as he slept, shoving a sharpened stick they lit on fire into his eye. The the cyclops then proceeded to ask his name, to which he was told "No one." So, as he yelled at in pain to his brothers, they shrugged it off, giving the sailors time to escape, but being blinded, they snuck out on the bottom of his sheep..

Greek/Roman mythology is full of all kinds of deity rape. To say sex was a big part of ancient Greek culture is likely an understatement. Despite sex being a totally natural part of being human, our modern society has, thanks to the influenced of Christianity, turned sex and sexuality into an ugly thing of sin and debauchery while violence and bloodshed is often championed and glorified. It's sad. Sex is as essential as food and sleep. Without it out species would cease to be. How we could allow something so natural and essential to our very being to become thought of as a shameful and sinful act is really depressing. Yet another beautiful gift from the Judaic religions.

@BlueUncia

I agree that the only thing that's arguably terrifying about Pegasus is its conception and birth, which are really more ... weird than scary. But centaurs, man. Centaurs are wild, unreasonable, warmongering brutes, prone to getting drunk and flying into a murderous fit of rage. They were supposedly like Vikings, except with the strength and speed of a horse. They're all about blood and conquest, and happily turn on their own relatives (the Lapiths). Also, yeah ... the rape thing. They do that.

That's because Hercules' original Greek name was Heracles. It became Hercules once the Romans took over and adopted the Greek mythology, changing the names of the Gods and all to their own versions.

Hercules is the Latin version of his name. His original Greek name is Herakles.

Greek sirens are different from the sirens you know. The world is not as one-sided as you think it is.

No, both sirens and harpies were bird-women and were distinct creatures.

The centaurs also tried to kidnap little boys as well as women to rape both. Chiron was different because he had completely different origins from other centaurs. The ones that like to rape were fathered by a king who wanted to make Hera his wife, so Zeus made a cloud that looked like Hera, the king raped the cloud, and the cloud gave birth to the wicked centaurs. Chiron was the son of Cronos and Philyra.
