As an american the only traditions I carried out was I stayed at my parents house the night before the wedding and my husband did not see me until I walked down the isle at the wedding. I also wore something borrowed, blue, old and new as I was married. There was traditions at the reception but they are the same as so many others.

Those who are suddenly proud of being American, don’t be too happy. These rituals come from ancient traditions. American history does not go too deep, besides if you look back your ancestors are the immigrants from the same cultures you make fun of! Unless you are indigenous.

I'm Scottish and live in Scotland and I've worked in the hotel industry organising weddings and I have never, ever heard of the tradition in your video. That said, I live in the Lowlands of the country so I asked friends in the Highlands about this strange tradition you mention and they haven't heard of it either. So, where in Scotland does this happen because the Scots certainly don't know about it?

I’m quiet surprised Indonesia believes going to the toilet to do a number two is bad luck! I respect that every tradition is unique but that is something that is natural and despite the diet for three days what is the internal health looking like? I do apologise if I come across as difficult but I’m not. I accept I may be wrong and if anybody scientifically knows better please feel free to correct me 🙏

That Scottish tradition was practiced here un Québec, Canada. It's been banned a few decades ago when some "groom's friends" went too far. Things like spray paint the groom has happened, suffocating those who's skin couldn't breath anymore. Poisonning also occured

In denmark, we have the kissing the bride or groom tradition. But it isnt kissing on the mouth. When the bride goes to the bathroom, all the women (not just the single women) go and kiss the groom ,usually with as much lipstick as possible,. They kiss him on the cheek, forehead or nose, but not the on the mouth. And the same goes for the bride. Also, the bride and groom is to dance the bride waltz before midnight. While dancing all the guests comes closer and closer to the bride and groom. And when everybody is to close to move, the guys grab the groom, take off his shoes and cut the toe of the sock off. A fertililty ritual. And it is also tradition to cut the vail in pieces and tie it to the cars. And wait for the vail to fall off on its own, for a long and happy marriage. Many people now a days buy a cheap vail to cut up, instead of the brides vail.

No.4, the African wedding; The "attendants" were usually there to confirm virginity of the bride. In other parts, I guess they were there to guide the newlyweds through the act of sex as the bride and groom are expected to both be naive and innocent about reproduction

I had a Cambodian neighbor. She told me of this tradition. She's not of that tribe, but we were just talking about traditions and superstitions. I love the places that have bride prices. Cause you have to think very carefully do you have the money to take care of this women the way you're supposed to because the parents are going to expect you to uphold your end of the bargain. A lot of places in Africa prefer their women curvy. I went to a Greek wedding where they broke plates. It was so much fun. They also spit on the bride, but like they patew when she walks by. In bali they also file your teeth.
