The outcome made me teary. Modern medicine is making such strides.

Its not really ''Modern medicine'' its more like ''Give me that and i give you this'' like a trade of organs that are able to be paired between 2 people or more. Its like when you get your blood drawn at a blood bank so the blood can be used in emergencies when people need blood, you have a blood match that can only be paired with people of the same match. Its been around for a long time, but people rarely think about the smart way to do things, only the expensive way.

Trans-organ paired exchange is a new concept to me. Interesting

Quite often they involve 5-6 organs transplanted and 5-6 lives saved! Its a great lifesaving process.

I prefer straight-organ paired exchange tbh. (This is a joke don't crucify me.)

I know with me being a type one diabetic for 53 years my kidneys work at 42% on my last blood test and I don’t want a transplant whatsoever but I have two sons that are grown adults so it’s not like I’m leaving too young kids behind if I had but it’s the rejection medication that I’m in fear of if you have a transplant. I knew somebody who was also a type one diabetic, but she smoke and drank, and her sister-in-law gave her her kidney and taking the rejection medication. She developed skin cancer. It was so awful that she begged them to put her to sleep to take her life in other words. She passed away, but it was a year and a half after her diagnosis of cancer and she died a terrible death. I don’t want that for my kids to see me go through that I’d rather it just be my kidneys shut down and go that way.

Watching these shows is just insane to me how they spend almost 0 times with the patient and just send them for ultrasound and blood. Where is the anamnesis, where is the medical history?

these clips are shortened so a lot of the show is cut out so they probably did more research

This condition is being treated in children in Israel with with a certain antibiotic there has been signs of success with it but I can't get voice to text to write things down the way I wanted to so I'm not even going to try to put the name of the antibiotic that is currently being tried for this particular problem again it's being used in juveniles and it has some quite a bit of success... So now they're probably trying it on adults meaning those over the age of 12.
