I live in Wisconsin and I'm seriously considering a 27 or 29 ft. Ranger tug to explore the great lakes like you are doing and then solo the great loop. My question is running the lines through the windows when locking are the lines or window frames getting mard up?

No they were not getting marred up at all. i only did it twice and the lock didn't pull hard on the boat at all so there wasn't any tension on the lines that would have caused damage.

Thank you as always for yet another stunning video. Have you considered a shop where we may purchase a drone photo etc? I LOVE that opening shot of your dad's boat and island ... I would love to frame it

Thank you for your interest. I may have to look into that in the future if I can build up a library!

I made that cruise in 2022. Cheboygan to Les Cheneaux to Detour to the Soo and return. It's a great trip.

@@MillennialAfloat Nope...mid August 2022. I haven't viewed all your videos so don't know the route you've taken. I have a vision to go from Mackinac to North Channel/Georgian Bay to Trent/Severn to Oswego/Erie Canal to Lake Erie/Huron to return.

@@MillennialAfloat So were we! Interesting about the bow thruster being underpowered. You'd think Ranger would have addressed that prior to shipping

@@SirAdamMeek Its more of a design flaw then an issue with the thruster itself. it does work in calm conditions but it cant be relied upon when its windy because the wind will catch the side of the boat. its nice to have but not necessary for docking

That is a cool connection! I really enjoy seeing all the old wooden boats around the area its a cool little look back in history. although I cant imagine the amount of work it takes to keep them nice.
