If my tribe have 200+ different dialects, I believe 200+ tribes might have been formed out of 1 tribe by now. I really appreciate how you people stick together as one tribe. Tangkhul people of Nampasi speaking told me their language have many similarities with our language. I found it quite true when I hear them conversing.

8:51 i see Chingjaroi dialect is the most distinct from other dialects. it belongs to the Angami Pochuri language family under the Naga languages and is different from the tangkhulic languages family under the naga languages .... the tone and accent is similar to Mao Poula .... was really intresting to see the diversity in ukhrul. eg i will = . chingjaroi-- zhü ne poula mao -- zhi nou now = . chingjaroi -- achui poula mao --chui do it .= chingjaroi -- su lo poula mao -- su lo eat . = chingjaroi --- tu poula mao-- tu ten = chingjaroi -- tarou poula mao -- kirou thirty = chingjaroi -- shanrou poula mao -- sherou first = chingjaroi--- küri nya poula mao -- rai nya

@@MrZaiousThe Tangkhuls speak tangkhul as their common language.
@MrZaious
4 жыл бұрын
@@ggeek7528FYI There was no common language before Rev. William Pettigrew. It was he who settled in Hunphun along with his wife Alice as a missionary and Pettigrew started his work as an Educationist at the Ukhrul Headquarter, Hunphun, on 19 February 1897, when 20 students enrolled to learn rudimentary western education. He also learned Hunphun/Tangkhul dialect from the Hunphun Chief Raihao Hunphun Awungshi, which was followed by writing Tangkhul primers, arithmetic, and catechism in Roman script, and finally translating the English Bible into Tangkhul dialect. Hunphun (the traditional name of Ukhrul) became the most common dialect among the Tangkhuls because the British set up their administration in Ukhrul. From Ukhrul Headquarter/ Hunphun, education and setting up of schools swiftly spread to the surrounding villages including Humbum (Hungpung), Talla (Talloi), Faling (Halang), Paoyi (Peh), Chingjui (Chingjaroi), Phadang (Phalee), Somdal, Horton, Longpi (Nungbi), Khangkhui, and Nambisha and so on. If you want to understand today, you have to search yesterday. I hope this clears things up. Pls do read some history and don't simply assume everything you hear to be true and never accuse without knowing all the facts or both sides of a story. The best options is to stay silent if you don't know the truth yourself. Thank you!
