I used to shop at Oaktree in the 1990s I loved their men's clothing,Very trendy and stylish. I was a Camalot Music fan as well!! Radio Shack has some very memorable commercials over the years.I loved that store too.United Colorss of Benetton had the coolest magazine ads in the 1980s. The models were always international.

@@Bdhstl95 Yes! I had my sweaters in High School. And I'm in New York so everyone wanted to know where I got it. Back then we wouldn't tell people because we didn't want them to bite. 🤣🤣

most of these stores are in the Midwest, probably south and East. I have never heard of most of them in California. The united colors of Benetton was huge in Europe in the 1980s. The problem with it was the clothes were too expensive for many people. RadioShack had a lot of parts for electronics, but I think people had switched out of building their own radios, computers, etc., and buying them. It was often less expensive to buy them whole than to put them together, you are correct that many of the stores had a lower price point but we're fast fashion. Payless shoes sold irregular shoes and castoffs, which were not exciting at least to me. They were similar to an outlet store. The stores were in malls, which are going belly up on their own. Excuse my punctuation I am using an iPad, which is a PITA to switch back-and-forth between letters numbers and punctuation..

County Seat - I worked there late 70's early 80's fun job. Also miss Dayton's - what a great retailer.

I was looking forward to a nostalgic trip through time, but calling stores "malls" and the unnecessary editing tricks, like the very distracting added scratching, really ruined it. Some dates were off, too.

I recognize one of your screenshots of "Foley's" posted on the wall of "Sunland Park Mall" (El Paso, TX). But it did not open that section of the mall a Foley's, instead we received a Macy's. Right now a locally-owned store called "Starr Western Wear" sits on that location of the mall. By the way, the mall has been bought out by the business owner of Starr Western Wear and has been renamed the building, "The Shoppes at Solana" Solana is spanish for "solarium", the building has a lot of skylights and a couple of domes. We're hoping for best for that mall.
