Sorry about the volume issues, we are still learning and will get better next time. Thanks for watching and putting up with our mistakes. Do you know of or have a good mic for use with the iPhone and MacBook?

Rode microphone. New €60,- sometimes second hand test before buying from €20,- just a mini-jacked into iphone. On imovie simplest way to get your movie edited and round off in final cut pro unfortunately. Costly.

Hi Amanda, followed you over from R&R, and I have to say your adventure is kind of our retirement dream. I've been making my way through your videos at a good clip, and am so impressed with the community you seem to have made for yourselves. I've worried that it could get quite lonely moving to a Spanish rural community, but you make it seem doable. Thank you for sharing your story.

Loved the beautiful linden tree. In Spain it is used to make Tila, a tea which calms anxiety. When my husband died in our local Spanish hospital, the nurses took me to one side and made me a cup of Tila. They said it would calm me. I had never noticed it before, but there it was in my Mercadona. I made sure I always had some in the house from then on. It will always remind me of that sad day.

Thank you for sharing that moving memory. We will definitely be planting a couple of these and I’ll collect the flowers to make tea… I first discovered it in Istanbul, they gave me some when I was sick in hospital to calm me…

We took a water sample to our local Pharmacia &they tested it for us- We had a full report on the water & its quality. It will be very interesting to see what that tool you found is, the bamboo racking you had is for drying almonds- We had a stack of them here & the old caretaker explained what they were for.

Thanks, we might take a sample to the pharmacia as well it will be interesting to see if they are the same. With so many almonds around it makes sense that those would be used for that, I'm thinking of making some use of them in the garden eventually!

Super - I am looking forward to finding out how the water testing goes - I have often thought of getting my water tested but though all I could do was get a report in Greek from my local water supplier, but I may investigate the possibility of testing myself, I could even apply the results to my brewing!
@SettleinSpain

Thank you :) The test results will be in our next video and I will link to the test we used. We are also going to get it tested by the pharmacy and see if they find anything different.

Is it possible that the wooden implement is a tool for racking grain across a large sieve to separate grain from debris or for evenly spreading grain to be dried.??

I have a place similar in some ways to yours, central spain. Perhaps this will help. When you strim what was long grass it leaves very short and very sharp/spikey stubble. 1 of our 3 dogs wont walk on it at all because it hurts his feet. Put the flat of your hand on it, you will see what I mean. If that place is fairly safe from fire I lay hay on it to make a path for the dog. Try making an area by the house with short grass and water it in the summer for the dog, no spikeys. I strim a strip of about 4 meters all around my property as a fire break. If you keep that short throughout the year it makes a nice path for the dog. I also cut firebreaks under the trees, as far as the branches extend. BTW I love watching your videos.
@SettleinSpain

That's great advice thank you, I hadn't thought about how spikey the stubble would be. We are planning on an area that will be for the dog in the future so will keep that trimmed and watered great idea :)
