Disclaimer on the bamboo lazy Susans…after drying, this one got ‘measles’ lots of bumps on the surface. I created another after double priming, same thing. I reached out yo the Sheeleart group for suggestions and I was told by a prominent artist that being bamboo (hard wood) it shouldn’t need primer, just bare wood. So I sanded this one down to bare wood, poured, love it, and same thing. (I’m really sad about this one) So don’t buy these lazy Susans until I figure it out or put give up on them.
Hi Everyone,
Thank you for joining me for another FIRST ATTEMPT, this one a bloom-recipe swipe on the top of a wooden "lazy susan' turn table I purchased from Amazon. This is another way to turn what I already love doing with fluid art, into functional art! Everything I do starts with fluid art and is certainly doable on canvases, I'm just trying to branch out into ways to create art on items other than canvases.
FYI, I've started categorizing my videos into playlists, so you can see "like" creations in each category!
Thank all subscribers, new and the frequent fliers, for the continued support and encouragement through my KZitem channel. With all of your support we just surpassed 3400 subscribers and I continue to be amazed in the interest in what little ole me is doing!
My intent is to succinctly share my latest, what I've learned, provide tips, often with some philosophy. If you enjoy this video and haven’t already, please subscribe 🔔and click ‘all’ , it's Free. The details:
Pillow paint: My go-to PPG Multi-Pro
My pouring medium is the usual Glidden semi gloss ultra deep base GLN6413N: Minwax Gloss
3:1 ratio to start, adjusted for consistency from there, aiming for a 2-3 second trace when mixed with paints.
I've only used substitute components to the Sheleeart Bloom Technique because I didn't have access to the Behr 8300 living in California. I think I still get good results. Once I use up my paints, I'll try the Behr 8300.
