Wonder what are these filters... Caps? Not likely, as I think data lines are DC... diodes? Then you introduce a voltage drop. So what are these? Inductors?

@@DIYRepairHour a type of inductor. A common mode choke. Two inductors wound on a common ferrite core.

Nice easy fix and clever risk vs reward calculation. I would take that every day😊love it how you respect the ebay guy and not blame him for sending you his clumsy messy mistake. You just fix it and stay neutral. That's what I call a real professional.
