I've lived in Port Jeffesrson my whole 70 years, this town used to be so welcoming to mariners but it's a second thought now. The dinghy docks were shut down by lawyers.

wow i just signed up to willis marine in Huntington and i am very excited about it. i think you are a little hard on the mooring balls they are safer then most people who cant anchor. i am excited in being a willis marine and practical for me to go home. i think if you would have spent more time there you might have understood why it is practical for some of us that want a full service marina. Don't get me wrong you look like good people

Long Island sound is great. Of course I tend to disagree with some of your assessments. Biggest thing to remember is that it’s a tidal water. The current can get quite strong and in particular at ‘the race’ you want to time it to go with the current. Keeping that current in mind, your not so favorite places could be favorites because they allow for protection and an easy day sail to get down the coast. Some of my favorite places are Matticut and northport. And of course you missed all of the places on the Connecticut side, which are worth it too. Anyway, the sound is great. In bad weather it can be really bad though. My home port is port Washington

So if I go to Huntington now, can I meet up with the Millers and that 20/10 baby as well? Because that seems to be the worthwhile feature on tow. Or do I have to find another family with a newborn?

Hey Douglas! We are trying to work that out. We are down to one laptop now and in the Exumas which has terrible internet so I was working on putting some videos in the queue to reduce the stress of "getting them done". We have a couple in the hopper now and I just asked Brown and he said he could start working on one this week...if we have the bandwidth to do research!! Sorry for the delay!

Good video, but get some life jackets on those kids in the dinghy (even on the adults). Something happens, you get thrown out and knocked out, without a life jacket you have a problem.

Thanks for your feedback. The great thing about being retired and not needing the $1.36 we earn per video is that we can post whatever we want. We started this channel for our family and friends who want to follow our adventures. If we help others along the way, then that’s a bonus. We wish you all the best!
