My dad was a carpenter and a heavy equipment operator. I am amazed at how much I learned from him when he included me in his projects without it looking like class or training. I can do a variety of small wood working projects but not like he could. I have said before how impressed I am with how you work with your son and how much he is learning!

Just found your channel and loved this video, my boy is about your son's age and I love working with him around the shop. I wish my dad were as patient as you are with your son, he will remember this forever.

Reminds me of the time my dad did the same thing with me. We spent some good times working together in the garage workshop.

In High School wood shop I made a drill bit box for my dad, After he passed on, I found it in his workshop (55 years later) still holding drill bits. It was a clunker but he clearly treasured it.

Hey Wes, Nice teaching vid for the Big Guy. He looked like he was really focused in his tasks. The chest has really come together and looks great. The both of you should be proud! Stay safe. (I like the hat he was wearing)..lol

Turned out excellent, keep the videos coming. Reference your red stump tool, just glue a piece of wood that fits in between the set screw and inside edge of the tool to hold it from sliding around.

That’s a REALLY great solution. I think I may go ahead and do that!

I'm not sure what was up with the dog, she is usually in the shop with me and just lays on her bed, but she couldn't get enough attention that day.

The first 1:30 made me want to post. Beautiful to see a father teaching his son so clearly and gently. I think he could have slipped and cut your finger wide open and you wouldn't have raised your voice. Great job.

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. I almost didn’t edit this video the way I did for fear people would be too bored watching a random dad teaching his son. I did this more for he and I to look back at later, but really do appreciate the kind words. Again, thank you.
