Thanks Divital! And I hope I'm still getting better every day. But I also know who I consider the greatest chemistry teacher of all time and I am definitely not at his level. Unfortunately, he is not on youtube, but Dr. George Wolf teaches quantum mechanics like nobody else!👍

sir, i understand why pka is equal to ph in the 1/2 titration point. but we can not say the same to poh and pkb in the equivalent point right? after all it depends on the concentration, or did i just miss understand your explaination?

Thank you so much, this is extremely helpful. Quick question, at the half-equivalence point of each of the last two titration curves, is the region of plus or minus 1 around this point the buffering region?

Hello Divital! There is definitely some editing that goes on behind the scenes and every once in a while I am unhappy with a video after editing it and will go and refilm the whole thing (it happened with this lesson, but it's the first one in this whole playlist). Glad you found it helpful!

Im kinda stuck with the Equivalance point part. On the graph, it shows you have to ad 20mL of NaOH. But when you were describing the 1/2 equivalnce point, in the initial equation you wrote 10 mol HF+ 10 mol NaOH. Can you clarify that part?

Around 23:00, you say that the moles of Acid and Conjugate Base are equal, but is it more accurate to say that the Molarity of the Acid and its Conjugate base are equal at the equivalence point? Is it true that at the half equivalence point, the concentration and moles of Acid and Conjugate base are equal? Or can the concentration of the Acid and Base be different from the moles of Acid and Conjugate Base? I hope my questions make sense.
@heshaanprathapan1232

I mean you can approach it either way since we are dealing with the same volume, Since there is no change in volume the moles won't be altered unless we will get a different value for the molarity. I hope it helps

Sir when we are performing titration of strong acid with a strong base.....light pink color indicates equivalence point or end point ?? As phenolphthalein gives pink color in basic medium and colorless in acidic medium .....so light pink color would be in neutral medium ?
@ChadsPrep
Жыл бұрын
Hey! Phenolphthalein noticeably changes colour between pH 8-10 so this is slightly past the equivalence point. It would be light pink from about 8.3-9 pH
