I’ve just quit a high profile job to return to my first job - working as a goldsmith at a local jeweller. I say no to pointless zoom meetings, a second mobile phone, high pressure, no weekends and say yes to a mindful occupation that turns old stuff into new, serves the local economy and moreover, myself. After a breast cancer scare I re-evaluated my life and didn’t want to carry on to feel chased and stressed. I cannot wait to start this calmer way of life. I know I will be a better mum and wife soon. Xx

I (try to!) say no to practicing conversations I want to have, particularly convos I want to have with my boyfriend - i.e. talking to myself as if I was talking to him, and hoping I get around to actually having that conversation. I used to do this heaps to help with the fact that I'm a verbal processor and need to talk stuff out, but I've actually found that this just indulges every little anxiety or pet peeve that really doesn't need a conversation, or airtime in my mind, and it also creates a false sense of intimacy and on-the-same-page-ness, because I FEEL like he gets where I'm at and how I feel, before I've ever actually communicated it with him - and a lot of the time *I don't even get there.* Instead, I've started journalling my thoughts - it's slower, less anxious and rambly, and I can read it back to see if it deserves a conversation. If I do feel like it deserves a conversation, I book in a time to have a phone call with him (so it's a contained conversation) and park my thoughts there to come back to during that call. I often find that things are less of a big deal than I imagine, I don't need a big speech for him to understand me, and that organic, honest conversations are so much more rewarding than rehearsed, anxious ones. :)

You cannot expect things to be in the exact location and everything to be perfect. Learning to be content with what you have at home and taking care of what you already have at home makes you more mindful and personally I feel home is where the heart is. This year I decided to say no to a couple of things: The first and most important is saying no to always saying yes. I have a very large family that I have always taken care of, and I was wearing down to the point of breaking down because I would say yes to everything and leave no time for myself. So now, I remind myself that it is okay to say no. So far everyone is still living, even if I may not see them as much and that's okay too. The second: No buying. I live in a small house and now when I think of buying something, I think of where it will fit in my home. If it doesn't fit, it doesn't come home with me. This has saved me so much money. :)

Wow! I'm very impressed with your research! I thought I learned a lot. You're teaching me even more. Very grateful for your videos!🙏 *~Lord please continue to guide us.~* I'm saying no to public school now. I'm on a journey to learn more about self directed education. I'm a "stay at home mom with 4 children 15, 13, 5 & 3 years old. I can no longer see my children cry when it's time to get on the school bus. I'm realizing how much I really do teach them throughout the day. Cheers to always learning! Life has been a journey. Thank you for taking the time to make these videos. God bless & your loved ones! ♥️

Ah, I’m such a people pleaser and that’s such a hard way to live! I’m starting off lent a little early and saying no to Facebook and Instagram- I feel like this will start me off in the right direction of what’s important for me and my family instead off wondering how it affects everyone else!

I am loving this! I've slowly been picking up on a lot of these things myself, and trying to be in the moment rather than letting myself be distracted and busy every moment! It's tough though. Our society today is definitely built around being busy always.

That's so awesome to hear. You're already aware, that's the first step. The next is defying what society pushes...you're not alone in saying that's tough. I have to work at it daily!

I say no to the standard way of raising kids...I homeschool, so I let them sleep in if they need it, take our time through school, let them pursue their interests and all while guiding them in our Christian worldview. 💛 hard at times, but such a gift!

I love this list girlfriend. A nice twist to the typical list. I thought for sure it’d be another “list of items you don’t buy anymore”. I say no to believing social media is how people really live

I am saying no , intentionally, each time. Not giving in , not even to myself when I have said NO. It's a No. (with a period) ✨

Love this, Margaret! I agree completely, especially with wearing a winter coat when it's 60 degrees outside ;-)

I’m saying no to my phone more. I constantly try to take in info or even take pictures of my baby. I’m so thankful to have this technology and be able to capture so many moments, but I don’t think I need 1,000 pictures from her first year😂 I want to spend more time learning through books and being present.

I’m saying no to extra stuff in my home. Example things that my fantasy self would have. I want to only keep stuff for now.

My “no” is to self criticism. Many a time I don’t love myself as I should, and that God intends for me. So “yes” is to “love your neighbor as you love yourself.”

I think it is really great that you acknoledged gor youself that you don't always have to win, be the best, have the biggest, ect. Decluttering is the best way to have less to pick up haha

I am saying no to my mum. And it doesnt feel good but I need to. She has so much unresolved conflict in her life and every attempt to help her get help failed. She doesnt want to change. I love her, A LOT, but my mental health has to be more important than to please her and fullfill her every wish and feed into her victim mentality

Beautiful video! I’m saying no to buying in bulk, to daytime television (not like soap operas😂) but having the tv on during the day, and to shoes that hurt my feet! It’s funny to reach a certain age and realize I’ve hit a tipping point for wanting “things.” I just want simple now.
