Please soak the galvanized tubes in a vinegar or other acid solution before exposing to flames. Zinc fumes can be hazardous to your health. Wanna see more of your work for years to come

Thank you Mark. Very good Point. I will surely get the galvanizing off the tubes before I use them.

Can’t wait to see finished project and working. Nothing worse than a cold shop. I watching every step, I’m glad I can save it because I’ve already forgot who I’m talking to(just kidding).

Happy New Year Stephen. Just love to see you working with and teaching your son. Skills that will last him a lifetime regardless of his pursuits in life! You are a great dad and I am sure he loves you as much as you loved being with your own dad. Great to watch - be proud of yourself! Regards Dennis

Looks like an awesome wood stove coming along there Stephen. I was always too afraid to install my wood stove inside my barn. Suffered through a many of cold night out wood turning. In a small garage bay now, stays pretty comfortable inside. Can’t wait to see the first burn!

Hi Stephen. My son is called David too and like you I enjoy having him around to help/show stuff to. Doesn't happen often enough with sons/daughters but as you said they have to go to work. Happy New Year to yourself and all the fire crew. And indeed to all the emergency responders. Keep the good video's coming

Very cool sir. I don't know why wood and coal stove manufacturers don't install heat exchangers in their products. It does make a huge difference.

Nice work...enjoy watching the build, as well as your many turning videos! I have a question about the welding...is that MIG with gas, and if so, do you have any problems using the gas outdoors without setting up wind breaks etc.... It's something I'd like to try, but it would have to be outdoors ...Thanks!
@StephenOgle

Thank you Israel. Yes this is a MIG welding rig and they do use Argon mix gas. I do not have a lot of trouble with the wind because I just wait for it to stop then begin welding. It is a drawback but nothing that will stop the process. I hope this helps.

You'll get more heat out of the stove if you put a damper in it

Thank you Bruce. You are correct and I have one installed into the flu pipe. It is the 1/4 turn type. Works great. Take care.
