I found you guys around 2 weeks ago and really appreciate the knowledge that you guys are putting out it is extremely helpful and I learn things every episode and I have non stop been listening and watching your workout videos. My fitness journey started 1.5 years ago and wish I would have found you guys way sooner because I was definitely not doing things the correct way - I was shedding weight fast it felt like but also what I didn't notice was loosing muscle at the same time. I was just doing cardio and cut the potions way down to just loose the fat, I went from 350 to 255 and in the last few months I have gotten addicted to lifting and having a blast doing it. I started just making my own stuff up to work on, no real schedule to follow. But after listing to you guys and watching your other videos on how to actually do the exercises has been a huge help - so I just want to say thank you for everything you guys put out and I have already sent some of your videos to other people to check out!

Some background: I'm 5'1 and weighed my heaviest at 205lbs in April 2021. I have joined workout classes doing circuit training, dance classes, kickboxing for 4-5 times a week at 1hr per session and there was little to no effect (lost 6lbs) on my weight loss journey. Made a lot of new friends though but I had to ultimately stop those classes. That's when I was introduced to you guys by my friend. I only started focusing on strength training in Dec 2021 and to date, I am currently at 187lbs. I work out 4-5 times a week with dumbbells and a bench + 10mins incline treadmill at the end. You guys were right to say that the weight loss will be slow with this method but in the long run, the body will burn more fat on its own. Also, I don't have to starve myself + having to do lots and lots of cardio (I really hate steady state cardio like jogging/running). Thank you guys so much for providing all these advice and showing us proper techniques (I always watch them before I perform my sets to help with my form) for free and readily accessible! I have a question though, I'm still working from home right now so I'm not meeting my daily steps of 10k. Would it be ok to do some light running to clock the 10k steps (walking to hit 10k steps will take somewhere between 2-3hours compared to 45mins of running), at least until I'm back to office in May.

I know I’ve commented something similar before but I can’t express how much I love your guys’ content! I was doing random workouts that I would throw together then realized I needed some guidance so I purchased a program from a power lifter I follow and it was more cardio inducing than weight training for me trying to squeeze in the amount of volume and sets she had programmed. I just don’t have the time for her program to run it properly, no shade! But since finding you all, I write my own workouts and focus on full body four days a week. I do the big lifts and work in some isolation work, mobility and abdominal training to round them out. I’ve gotten so strong and my lifts are only getting heavier. So thanks again Sal Adam and Justin for all you’ve done!! ❤️

Hormonal fluctuations during a menstruation cycle also factors into the ACL injury statistic. The effects of levels of progesterone and estrogen on soft tissue injuries and strength is significant. Example- Progesterone can increase laxity which and typically levels are high in the week leading up to a period.

Echo what Sal said on bodybuilding! After going through my first competition, a whole new "norm" was created. It completely changes what being lean and tracking intake means. It has taken me YEARS to allow myself to get into the higher teens in bodyfat (I'm female). The Mind Pump podcast has helped me to reset what it means to be healthy and remind myself that I have al l the tools I need to change my physique at any time. Question: I saw on numerous tiktoks that women in France do not pee themselves! Apparently, women in France get prescribed physical therapy for perineal re-education -- basically all kinds of pre and post natal education for their hoo-ha. Well, I've never had a baby but I do have a poor pelvic floor and core. I have had abdominal surgery in the recent past. What exercises can a female do to strenghten the pelvic floor? Also, you guys are my favorite podcast and your hot topics always have me on an emotional rollercoaster - one minute I'm heated in disagreement rolling my eyes on the treadmill, the next I'm laughing like an idiot in the grocery store check out line. Thank you so much for sharing your evolution in the fitness industry, especially your moments of compassion and understanding for your clients. I do love hearing, "that depends..."

I'm really liking the section on training young people. I'm a nanny and I've actually been thinking I might get the NASM YES (youth something) cert eventually. I currently watch homeschooled boys 6 and 9. We're also at the park all the time so I'm interacting with other school age kids while we're there. The boys I watch are working on their pull ups. I'm trying to get my first unbanded pull up and the monkey bars because of them. Re: kids not paying attention. YES. I will clap loudly and be like "Ok we're doing this" "We're doing this" "We're doing this" Until they get themselves in gear.

I recently took the big step in applying as a personal trainer in my local gym (still waiting for the callback - fingers crossed) and I even earned myself a Google Coursera Certificate back when Sal mentioned it like a year back! Although I hate the term “woke” used in negative connation (I feel like so many things it’s become a catch all bucket phrase to polarize things), some of the most encouraging things I’ve seen going into the gym have been with overweight people. Last week I ran into a father there with his overweight son (maybe somewhere between 11-14 years old). Black father too, which I loved to see. Wasn’t pushing the kid hard just showing him the ropes. Walked up and had to congratulate him on it. He explained he was just trying to gradually get him into good habits. Sometime less than a year ago I ran into a still overweight guy that had a shirt that said “Lost 80 pounds and counting” (don’t remember exact weight on shirt). But I had to congratulate and encourage him. Because it’s like “yes, keep going.” One because I know for me consistency has been the hardest part of this thing for me and you kind of just get your spirit lifted seeing people try. Another thing mentioned, I’d you start asking questions to buff guys and girls who have been in this for a long time, they’ve always seemed very willing to give direction and encouragement without shaming at all. It’s an attitude you eventually learn to pass on.

People that say diets don't work are the same people that have done juice cleanses and weight watchers for 5 years and cant connect the dots on why they are still obese. Or people that look at a "diet" as a temporary thing. A diet is forever, it is a collective sum of all the food you eat. A diet isn't just salads and chicken breast for 6 weeks while you do a bunch of cardio. I have lost, and kept off 100 pounds since October 2020 and it's not because all I eat is salad. F. M Alexander said "people don't decide their futures, they decide their habit's and their habit's decide their future." Like some wise podcast host once said, it's easier to change your hashtags than it is to change your habits. Anyways I would love the bundle give away, I always just kind of wing it when it comes to lifting and would love a hard, set in stone work out plan. Keep up all the great work gentleman I think you truly are making a change.

I was part of my high school athletics program specifically playing on the soccer team. ACL tears were a common experience for many of the female soccer players both on jv and varsity teams. We never weight lifted and it was only the football and wrestling teams that used the weight training gym. I don't think the soccer coaches understood the importance of weight lifting yet and I am sad most of us did not reach our potential.

For the crossfit question. I think a good way to get better at it is strength train for certain workouts for instance fran is a famous workout of 95lbs thrusters and pull ups 21/15/9. At first I would do crossfit over and over and I wasnt getting any better. But the. I saw it as fuck the cardio endurance build strength so I started doing sets of thrusters like a typical gym workout 3 sets of 10 thrusters at 115 lbs 3 sets of 8 thrusters at 135. Once I got used to that weight I went back to fran and I killed it cause now it wasnt cardio of crossfit. I was stronger.

I love this podcast so much i tell everyone about it! Its really like having pocket personal trainers yall guys GIVE SO MANY GEMS ABOUT EVERYTHING FITNESS! You would etheir have to dig for or buy i found this podcast late 2020 maybe and just been kinda dropping in here and their to listen now i listen almost everyday. Anyways i been a huge guy since i played football in highschool very strong but still have large amounts of fat because while i was good at the lifts i would be doing shit like eating junk in the weight room and alot of the times even before games and practice but believe or not this didnt really effect my preformance i dont know if it was because i was young but i didnt get tired during games or even 2 a days. Matter of fact toward the end of my senior year i even played both sides of the ball O gaurd and D end with asthma at the end of every game our coach would give the big guys our own box of pizza or box of chicken, pretty much whatever we had that night. Its just crazy to me when i think about it now i drank alot of water of course because of the texas heat but guys im telling you i was getting my foot chopped off for sure if i continued to eat this way. However i weighed 315-320lbs early january 2021 and now i am floating around 229lbs i feel like fucking super hero at times 🤣but i got this done using what i know from lifting in school and your podcast as the ultimate guide. With that being said i cant thank you guys enough for all that yall do yall are one of my favorite but should be one of the best pods overall!

Well, about that victim mentality, I remember vividly that as a child I used to think that only the chosen people can be slim and that was untill I discovered the beautiful world of fitness influencers that convinced me it isn't true and I can be fit too. So I did it, though "the wrong way" - lots of cardio etc, but I managed to keep it for ~2 years (then I discovered you and now I'm traing to get strong). But because I was in that mindset that the body is given to you and you cannot do anything about it I kinda can understand. Maybe if I was a bit older when I saw "fitness side", and have had the mindset fixed in me, I would hate the fitness people too. Because why they want to make you put in the hard work for nothing? Not a justification, but just a loose thought, or rather hope that this is, whats going on in those people heads (as for if that messaging was to come from the good place), but I don't know if I even believe that, because then it means that they are living in a veery solid bubble.

Hey guys, I want to reach out and inquire about suspension trainers. Currently I'm focusing my work on traditional DB, BB, etc style workouts with my home gym setup. I had always been leery about suspension trainers because I may have this preconceived notion that they are not "tough" enough or could provide enough of a training/growth stimulus that I can get from the latter. Could you guys give some further insight into how to either incorporate suspension trainers into current protocols or possibly even replace them (even for a temporary period)? My goal is standard strength and hypertrophy. I love doing heavy squats and deadlifts (lower rep sets), but do recognize that my training and progress has stalled. Thank you guys for any guidance you can provide. -Robert
