This is an outstanding video on casino poker table "etiquette." To a beginner, looking at the sea of poker tables and not knowing what to do can be very intimidating. Plus, you never want to look like a beginner at a poker table. :)

I was very nervous, but you can make it through. You can literally fold every hand if you are worried. Will just cost you a few dollars in blinds. Just get some time at table to get comfortable. You can do it!

The dealer will always take the rake from the pot and then push the remainder to the winner. In most venues, chips in play on the table can be used for drinks, food, tipping staff, etc. BUT you may NEVER remove chips that are in play from your stack to take them out of play. They must remain on the table. Removing them is called "going south" and will usually result in arguments, the floor being called and sometimes even bans.

Good breakdown for those just joining the game! As far as leaving the table goes, my own personal preference is I like to leave after I play my blinds - courtesy to the folks at the table, and whomever is coming in. And for tipping, I usually am a heavy tipper (dealers can go through tough days - they deal with more BS than most), and I usually wind up giving over my singles before I cash out.

@@asastevens4694 I assume for new players they'd let me know, right? It might take a few hands. The sad thing is I'm really, really good at Hold'em, but having played with friends we never used blinds, just ante, and online it's automatic.
