Great review! We are happy you like them! Can't wait to see some fish caught on them.

Question...Do you buy your rods from a retail outlet or do you get your rods directly from the manufacturer with them knowing full well that the rods are going to be used in a review? Makes a big difference on reliability and fit & finish...

This great. I'm looking into the 7'3" medium light for redfish/trout/flounder in Florida. Finesse fishing them on grass flats w/ 1/8-1/4 oz jigs is the idea. Knowing that particular model is super sensitive is what I needed to know. And that they are fragile. Can you comment how the Legend Tournament Inshore compares to Avid or Mojo Inshore in terms of sensitivity? I have the Mojo Inshore (when they were purple) in Medium 8-17 lb but want to step it down while also upgrading.

Get it (if you haven’t). That 7’3” medium light legend is my absolute favorite of my bunch! Sometimes I’ll take 4 rods on the boat in my arsenal and have no reason to even grab the other 3.

Awesome review Paulie! Just picked up a 7’3 legend inshore as well! I’m a huge fan of st croix rods. Amazing warranty too. I had broken an avid inshore and they let me trade up no questions asked. Awesome video.

@@billw7894 There are big sales going on with the avid so now is the time to buy before it’s too late. I had the avid and liked it a lot. I’d probably get another one but I traded up for a legend inshore.

There are so many series to choose from. Trying to understand what each is best for is not so easy. 😮 How much better is the Avid inshore vs the Mojo inshore? The ratings seem the same, but Mojo is cheaper.

Does the medium heavy have double footed guides? Also who makes the guides? I have the previous version and it’s only doubled footed guides on the bottom 3. I’ll toss a 3oz jig on it even when it’s rated for a 1 1/2 oz. Just landed a 25lb stripper the other day which was pushing the rods back bone to lift the fish out of the fast current. It’s paired to my 2020 Shimano twin power 4000

I am not experienced in using different rods. I primarily fish off a beach or pier, using cut shrimp, cut bait, live minnow or shrimp type bait etc. i am not sure if i should go medium or medium heavy, and not sure what length i should do. I typically will use the one rod every day so i'd like something universal and durable just in case i hook a shark or stingray on accident. I've used a fenwick hmg inshore medium-fast rod for two years and it finally broke. I loved that rod but would like to try this rod... helppp

You ever use 10lb braid on your inshore rods/reels? And then obvious 15-25lb leader. Ive got a 7ft medium light penn squadron III paired with a 3000 bg and 10lb braid to 15-20lb leader and love it for the 1/2-5/8oz maybe a little more pushing the 3/4oz deadly dicks lure and it is a beast of a rod for a medium light. But love using it for the 1/2 bucktails, 1/4oz jig head and 4inch paddle tail and its a dream.

I agree that then last place to buy a rod is the big box store. However the mom and pop shop just can't afford the inventory carrying costs. Waiting over 10 days now for one of the rods you mentioned from St. Croix to be delivered to a mom and pop shop. Sooner or later where do you draw the line in fairness to all? Enjoyed the video BTW.

Check out maxcautro I had the same issue with casting distance with my mh legend and switched to 20lb maxcautro and run it on all my inshore rods. Not cheap but worth it imo.

How does the warranty compare to st croix? St croix is a 15 year with a trade up option. Also, there are not many models to choose from with the night ranger and they are not as sensitive as the Legend Tournament Inshores

If I was to choose my best inshore rod I would go with the night ranger and nexus by jigging world I do love st Croix rods but personally I would go with the new mojo inshore they just came out with the legend is nice but kinda expensive for an inshore rod the night ranger i think is a better rod then the legend and it’s only 245 not 400 and it’s lighter and has a ton of power
