You are partially correct in the reasoning for the long length of the bottom of the chassis. In designing the vehicle we were presented with premade parts which I had to "fit" into the design in order to keep price under $200. Links were one of them. That forced me to have to use a longer bottom part in order to add adjustability to these rear upper links. I originally brought it up like you mentioned but then had to bring down due to upper links coliding with battery trey at more extreme articulation possitions. In the end I had to bite the bullet and accept the length as it is now. But, now that this version has found its way out we can work on better designs that will put even this one to shame! 😁👍

As usual, super in depth review of the rig, thanks for putting in so much effort. A couple questions if you have time, Is it locked in low or high and do you think that effects torque or does the brushlessness cancel out those concerns? Does it have a similar amount of lash in the drivetrain to the Fcx24? Thats the only issue i have with my power wagon, it has a fair amount of lash in low with the portals which hinders precise driving sometimes.

Gearing Always matters, brushless or not. I am unsure of the gearing used, however I don’t think it’s as simple as it just being locked in high or low, I know it has a different pinion on it. It has plenty of low end torque and enough wheel speed to trail it. As for portal slop/lash, all portal setups have that issue. This one doesn’t seem to bad though.

This truck has ONE bearing in the entire system. The motor shaft bearing... The lights dont even turn off without unplugging them. Cheapo.
@TheShopMiniRC
10 ай бұрын
Are you kidding? Cheapo? This truck is fantastic! It's ALL metal gears... what other RTR has that? Its Brushless, what other RTR has that? I would MUCH rather have bushings over bearings if it means brushless and all metal gears. It also has a separate ESC and RX, which means you can easily swap or upgrade electronics... Calling it "Cheapo" is a completely unfair and poor assessment of this truck

Ken I’m trying to hook up my fly sky GT5 with the FS-BS6 receiver to the Furitek 118 with the lizard pro SC. I’ve managed to bind the receiver and I’m getting steering but no throttle. Can you help me ?

You need to be sure to calibrate the throttle endpoints in the app. Also be sure your battery is fully charged.

@@TheShopMiniRC I loved the video you did pullin apart the furitek 118 transmission accidentally dropped one of the bushings in the battery tray, then not knowing you were minus that bushing attempted to figure out how that thing was working…..epic content , have shared that with many friends. Ken. Good to see you back. Hope your trip was successful. Great to hear you talk about all these little details. I know a rig will never be perfect. The cons - noise and slop in the transmission thu the wheels, large bottom section of the frame is indeed long, bushings. Pro's? hahaha.. everything else which is a lot!. Vented stock wheels? How much grease is too much gears to pack on all those gears? Can you flip those shocks so heavy side down? replace bushings with bearings all around? Graboids!
@TheShopMiniRC
Жыл бұрын
Thanks a ton. Still dealing with some rental stuff, but back home and that’s good. I am not sure if they are actually vented, but they seem to be, I don’t think there’s such thing as too much grease lol (I’m sure there is but I use a lot). Yes you can flip the shocks to get more weight down low and bearing over bushings all day long if you don’t run in a lot of water.

Got mine yesterday. Excellent in depth footage of the product. You are becoming imo the gold standard for review of these little rigs. Btw, do you remember how many bushings total are in the gearbox? And if so the size? Want to replace those with bearings and leave the bushings for the rest of the rig. Didn’t see any dimensions referenced in the manual. How do I get a sticker? Would totally rock your logo on my rig. Thanks again for the excellent vid.

Great review Ken! Really had fun with the missing bushing part of the video! Lol! I just got my Green Fury in the mail. Love the looks and the color. I noticed I am getting quite a bit of torque twist and was hoping that you could please give me some tips on fixing that. The shocks don't seem to have any oil in them, so I will start there by filling them and seeing if that helps. Great video and super informative. THX
@TheShopMiniRC

You fix torque twist by reducing any resistance in the axles/wheels that might exist and then stiffening springs. Also, you can try to reduce weight. Thicker Oil in the shocks will help.
