Opals are such beautiful stones and I wanted to replicate them using dichroic glass. You can get all sorts of opals such as white opal, firestone opal, black opal, australian opals etc. Here I show you how to make faux opal pendants from your scrap dichroic glass. The end results are AMAZING and you can make these easily once you have watched this video.
Firing schedules. These may vary depending on your kiln.
Full fuse used for both with and without molds
260 C (500 F) to 676 C (1250 F) hold 30 mins
333 C (600 F) to 804 C (1482 F) hold 10 mins
Full to 482 C (899 F) hold 60 mins
83 C (150 F) to 371 C (700F) End
Fire Polish/Tack
Firing schedule for Fire Polish that I use. I also use this schedule for tack fuse which gives a light tack fuse. If you want more fuse then go a little higher than 726 C.
270 C (518 F) to 535 C (995 F) Hold 20 mins
650 C (1202 F) to 726 C (1339 F) Hold 10 mins
Full to 515 C (959 F) Hold 60 mins
200 C (392 F) to 150 C (302 F) Hold 0 mins
