I've always been using the box. But recently I also started using old comic book backing boards as labeled dividers in the box to stop the sprues from getting stuck on each other, but mainly as a better visual guide to pick and return a sprue.

A tip I learned from Vampybitme: Get some scotch tape, and a Sharpie, and make tape flags on each runner, with the runner number written on each. That way, you're not squinting at the runner, making sure you have the right one. I also use the box method of sorting, the tape flags just help my lame eyesight.

i made a organizer out of cardboard, i cut a corner out of a box and then glued abunch of L shaped pieces of card board into it so i can have all my runners standing upright when building a model, and yeah i leave the stickers and poly caps off to the side because they typically are so small that they'd be hard to receive from it... although, when i built a RG and a mega size i couldn't use this method.. i thought of setting up a cloth line above my hobby desk and just using clothing pegs to hold the runners on the cloths line instead, but havn't got around to setting that up yet

I tend to use a modified method where I put the smaller runners to the side because if you're building a super big kit with a handful of smaller runners (the Sinanju Stein recently, for example), it's easy to lose the smaller runners underneath the big ones and that's a pain. ^.^ Also, as soon as a runner is empty,, I throw it away (assuming it's not clear)

I stick a big piece of white duct tape on 1 side of the runners, then write the letter. BOOM ! Done ..every letter stands out and can be seen even if it`s under all the other runners. Besides ...from my experience , after you build a couple of parts you memorize how the runners look and you don`t even need to check the runner`s letter.

After a few steps I could pretty much pick the runner i need put of the pile. Just like all my pieces. I have a dozen kit boxes and a few dozen cigar boxes with pieces and all sorts of places with a piece or two that's separated from the kit but I know exactly where every polycap is. Its odd how familiar you become with a kit and its pieces once you've built it

I got a tool organizer with dividers from a dollarama. And i cut the pieces off the runners and put them together in the tool organizer with their respective runners. I just like doing this so i can take off the nubs all at once. Ive only built 1.5 HG kits though. I realize this may not work with RG and MG kits as there would be too many runners. On hindsight, the tool organizer will fit 2, 1/144 HG scale built kits side by side. With extra space in the middle for extra parts and the instructions on top. Wouldve made a perfect storage for me for built kits if only the dividers were removable. 😂😂😂

I like the slotted rack thing. That would be helpful. I do alphebatize in the box but it still sorta pisses me off. To be honest though, I would only half use the slotted stand thing. I'd probably have them scattered all over the table or desk with the quickness regardless...

That is exactly how I do my building time (Not sarcastic). And this is not directed to you zack, but how does anyone have any problem with this. That said, I place my runners near me on a table in order. Either from left to right is A and so on, at about 2 Big A size plates have been organized, I go down and repeat. That's my way of building. I build the kit itself in the box along with the polycaps and sticker sheet... To avoid a small part from getting lost.
