What a shame. Ill trade you mine already professionally done, including scope and turned down bolt, in 30.06...yeah,its s fine deer rifle ,really nice and handy to shoot but there are plenty available and less and less unmolested milsurps every day. And let me tell you its expensive and really not worth it to try and return one back to original configuration. Forget about matching numbers and no fix for a drilled and tapped receiver for scope mounting. I bought mine already modified for a good price and its a beautiful mauser but it will never have the value of its unmolested brothers.

Oh it's far from a shame...I'm out hunting with that gun this week and will have to buy another freezer from all the nice venison! The original Boehler-Tungsten steel and fact this came from Peter Paul VonMauser's own factory and not a copycat are some reasons why this one is special. Very happy with the 7.65 original Belgian round too. And theres a larger cache I have of museum quality orig condition 1909s and other good reasons this one was selected (see my other vids dealing w preservation of them too) :-)
