Directed and edited by Marcus Howard. The battle of the South Dublin Union in 1916 tells the story where so called ordinary men and women became extraordinary. From the local streets, vastly outnumbered and facing superior weaponry they displayed grit and determination to free their country. As well as the famous figures of Eamonn Ceannt, Cathal Brugha, W.T. Cosgrave and Con Colbert, this is a story of patriots who rose to the occasion when the moment called. Further episodes will be released later this year.
Featuring historians Liz Gillis, Derek Molyneux, Dominic Price and Kieran McMullen as well as Cathal Brugha's relative, Pearse Brugha. The film also features Dave Swift and Brí Ní Huaithne from Claidheamh Soluis and music from a wide range of artists.
