This unique 1927 Roadster was built by Dick Jones of RH Jones Company in Campbell CA back in the early 90s. He built and owned a lot of different hot rods over the years and owned a hot rod parts store that he advertised in Street Rodder and other magazines back in the 80s and 90s. He also specialized in making fuel tanks for sprint cars and super modified race cars. He was also one of the top IBM engineers back in the day before he got into the Hot Rod parts business.
Body
Poliform fiberglass 1927 roadster with a cool one off track nose that has a similar style of the Indy Kurtis roadster driven at the brickyard. The body is a three piece with molded in doors, opening trunk lid, custom thin smooth flush tail lights, polished windshield frame and mirror, custom chrome rear nerf bars,polished stainless grill, Has removable quick mount head lights that are stored in trunk.
License plate is on a hinge that flips up for a clean look.
Paint
PPG Deltron chrome yellow with red and orange flames out lined with light blue pinstripes
Flames and striping done by well known hot rod and custom painter Rod Powell
It is also on the cover of his Flame Painting Techniques book.
The paint is amazing for its age you would never think that it could of been done 32 years ago.
It looks like it could of been done a few years ago that is how nice it is.

Lime works polished steering column and column drop
Bell Midget 3 spoke steering wheel
Moon Classic instruments and a VDO tachometer are mounted in a Auburn dash panel insert.

Built by Ron Attebury a well known Drag racer and Chassis builder. He was inducted into the International Drag Racing Hall of Fame in 2023
Custom-tube space frame. 103-inch wheel base with the suspension strung off a dual four-link setup and sprung with torsion bars.
Up front there is a chrome dropped straight tube axle with a height adjustment-system.
Tube shocks at all four corners.
Front disc brakes with Corvette finned calipers and drum brakes on the rear.
Limited slip 9 inch ford rear with 3.25 gears.

Wheel Vintique steel 15x5 with new 165 65 15 tires
Polished 3-bar bolt on knock-offs

Steel 15x10 with new 275 60 15 tires

Also have extra 15x12 steel red wheels with vintage Firestone dirt track tires that sit closer to the body.
Drivetrain
Chevrolet 4.3 V6 crate engine with very low miles.
Mallory distributor and coil,Edelbrock Performer intake manifold, Holley 600 carburetor with electric fuel pump. Polished finned milled air cleaner lid with K&N filter.
Chrome Sanderson headers
Custom radiator with electric fan.

Was told it was on the Cover of a Good Guys magazine probably in a 1993 or 1994 issue still looking for it if anyone knows let me know I would appreciate it.. Also it had a write up on it as well in one of the Good Guys issues.
