Hot rods are all about components and pedigree. Take a good, long look at this all steel 1930 Ford 5 window coupe and you'll see a pro-built rod with a ton of high-end parts and custom fabrication. It is most definitely one of the most beautifully finished rods we've ever featured. And with a 350 Chevy small block under the hood, performance is stunning, with acceleration that will pull your hair out by the roots.
This 1930 was built from a genuine all-steel Model A, in 2002 by a gentleman in Ohio. He owned the car for six years before selling it to its second owner, who also lived in Ohio. Vanguard Motor Sales purchased the car from its second owner, and we can't wait to make you the third owner of this stunning work of automotive art.
This all steel body is finished in a beautiful shade of peach/orange paint by PPG (Deltron 2000 DBC/DBI). The cream colored custom pinstriping is a nice touch, and very well done. The fit and finish on this '30 is beautiful. Everything from the door latches to the pop-out window, the fenders to the running boards and all of the lips, it is just stunning. The top is un-chopped, so there is a ton of headroom inside. The grille is from a 1932, and the rear bumper is off a 1948 Chevy. Special features include a third brake light in the license plate holder for safety, custom gas tank to allow trunk room, wind wings, dual mirrors and a custom made vent built into the old gas cap (I have never seen this done, what a great idea)! The end result is most certainly show-winning in every way.
The small block 350 Chevy V8 motor runs and drives awesome. The list of quality components in the power plant is exhaustive, including Summit aluminum heads, block hugger jet-coated headers, a Weber carb, HEI distributor, polished Edelbrock intake and boots on the spark plug wires to keep the heat out. The motor compartment in this street rod is near blinding thanks to the super higly polished valve covers, chrome alternator, polished air cleaner, chrome fuel pump, chrome timing chain cover and aluminum pulleys on the chrome water pump. Check out the custom billet filler panels, which were milled by the builder, they have been fluted to match the contours of the compartment and painted to match the body. The paint job on the firewall is just as nice as the top of the fenders. Under the hood you will see the built in hood props and suicide custom hood latches. No expense was spared under the hood!
The undercarriage has been completed to "show" condition. The Brookville Roadster Chassis was professionally built and a beefy Ford 8" open rear end with 3:55 gears puts the power to the ground. Check out that cast aluminum cover on that rear end. The details underneath this car are incredible. The polished aluminum exhaust system is hung with custom Billet hangers, the stainless exhaust tips and has chrome Glass Pack mufflers. Out back you will find drum brakes, coil over shocks, a chrome 4-link system and a chrome Panard bar. The tig welding on the rear end brackets and frame is professionally done. In the middle of the undercarriage you will see the custom drive shaft, parking brake cable, proportioning valve for the back brakes and the Corvette master cylinder for the power brakes. The 700R4 overdrive trans has a chrome pan, there is a chrome cover on the torque converter and the oil pan is chrome as well. Take a look at that front end. The list of chrome components is a mile long, including the harmonic balancer, front axle, springs, shocks, hair-pins, and bumperettes. The steering gear is polished stainless steel, as are the braded lines for the front disc brakes. Polished aluminum American Racing wheels and Daytona SR tires (2/35/70/16 rear and 1/95/60/15 fronts) sit at all four corners. No expense was spared when this Ford was built.
Documentation includes photos of the build, and a binder with every receipt and a log of everything that has been done to the car in the last ten years.
