Did you know that Bobbie Pins were invented FOR the waves of the 20's (when they were invented) They were marketed that way, so of course they are helpful :)

I just wanted to thank you for this video. I'm trying to get a costume together for Halloween of Lady Alcina Dimitrescu together, but I have no idea how to do the hair and make up. Your video is so clear in it's instructions for legit beginners who want to learn how to make these hair styles. :) Thank you so much! 1:11 To 2:09

great tutorial! I have noticed you are using more colourful eyeshadows like lilac and blue etc. I have used browns and neutrals for years now...is there a specific pastel eyeshadow palette you recommend? pastel colours were quite popular in the 60s and 50s, I think they are super cool :)

I just bought the Beauty Bay EYN Bright 42 Palette - super bright shades in both shimmers and mattes - and I am LOVING it! I've only used nudes and browns for decades and figured it was time to have some fun. But I wanted to wait until I could find something decent as cheap colourful eyeshadow looks awful and is very hard to blend. This one is only £23 and its cruelty free and vegan. xx

When I first got into styling my hair vintage, it was pretty straight, and no matter what I did it.would.not.wave. Now that it has texture (and almost curls) it’s a breeze, sometimes I don’t even have to work at it. I have heard several people mention that the texture you have naturally can have a big impact this type of styling. Of course I don’t know if you have texture or not. But I totally get the frustration. 💖

@@OsnackieO By "texture" do you mean layers or just thinning? I suspected this would help, but my hairdresser was so reluctant to thin my hair! 🙂 Finally did but I'm not sure if I might need more bottom layers.
@OsnackieO

@@streetofdreams4538 Oh, I mean texture as in not dead straight. I used to have pin straight hair and no matter what I did, it wouldn’t water wave. Now I have a bunch of waves and kinda-curls, which is what make it a perfect “medium” for this type of styling. I have pretty fine hair, so I don’t gain much from thinning out my hair. But I do give my ends some layers which makes it fall very authentic. I used a hairdressers videos here on YT called TheSalonGuy, he has some nice videos about cuts and layers for fine hair, depending on what you’re going for of course. 😊
