I plan to do a weathering project soon. Thanks for the tips.

That AMT '34 Ford Pickup Trophy Series kit dates back to 1962. The optional engine is a Ford FE 390 that was the then-current hot V-8 for Ford around 1961-62 (the 406 was new in '62) and it's all-chromed like everything was on show rods of the era (The kids'll dig it!). The styrene molding technology was improving in '62 but you still find some thick attachments like on the pre-'62 kits. The AMT '29 Ford Model 'A' Roadster was another really nice kit from 1962. AMT continued to improve with some great Trophy kits in 1963, '64 and '65. P.S., The AMT 1958 Edsel Pacer kit was introduced in 1999 by AMT/Ertl ('90s kit technology).

the 34 is really a great kit. the chrome engine is a thunderbird engine. I have one that is stalled out right now. it will be a four door cab and boast a 66 galaxy SOCE engine with cycle front fenders and bobbed back fenders when it gets finished. i think you should find a chrome hook for the tow version but you will have to use thick thread for the cable.

Hey I was just now seeing this video I worked at Plasman a plastic injection molding. The area where the sprew I attached to the parts. It's actually necessary. The mold has a stationary and a moveable side. It clamps up and forces the plastic inside the cavity. The area like the fenders there is a gate that has to fill up if it's not clamped tight enough or there is damage to the mold it causes flash. If you'll look at some pieces it looks like a crack in the plastic or a swirl that's called splay or silver. It's actually a very dangerous job. Some molds like on a Honda mini van the one before this model under the back quarter panels the plastic part under the window there is a track between the window and the plastic part that looks like a Nike swoosh. That is called the outer rails. That mold is 76,000 pounds just for that right and left part. It's really interesting. You should look up plastic injection molding the presses and molds are really cool things. Anyway I just heard you talking about the wide sprew on the fenders part that actually has to be there and that size.
