He is a real hotroder, in the beginning of hotroding, every rod was unique, not a carbon copy from a dealership! I love it! More people like him will keep the tradition alive, hope to see his car in person someday, keep the shinny side up.

Totally awesome! I'm building a 292 with Ryan Falconer V-12 head, 6-71 and nitrous. Billet crank, billet solid roller cam and steel billet rods. 5 stage dry sump. Electromotive direct fire EMS. Going in my 53 Chevy 1/2 ton pickup for drag and drive. I hope to see you at the track. Thank you for your time.

Nice! Those Falconer heads are neat! I remember my dad talking about those some 20 years ago. Whats your HP goal with that set up? (pre and post nitrous)? Where is your billet crank from? We have always used the forge '63 crank, but recently have pulled the trigger on a custom billet crank. (should be here in a few weeks now!).

@@markstirnemann8831 Crower made my crank. I'm building for 1300 hp. My goal is 1000 hp with a 200ish nitrous shot. I know 3 guys running 1000 hp 292's with no nitrous. Two with turbo and one with blower. One of the turbo guys slightly destroked his 292. The blower guy has 3 full seasons on his and has never opened it up. It's still going strong.

@@lazyhoundracing9621 Yeah, the 292 scene is going strong for sure and there are a few of us in the 1,000+ range. The Staff Bros in TX are the ones I believe you are talking about with the destroked 292. Leo Santucci has written a few book and pulled knowledge from his own racing plus from some of us for the book's content. I'm sure you are aware of those books.

I remember reading about this car in a magazine back around 1990 or so, maybe a little later, but I ran into my dad's room with the article spread, biggest grin on my face. I was trying to get him to keep a six in his, but he wanted a dern big block. Years later, I inherited his 70 C/10 that we put a 230 in place of the 307 one weekend to get it ready for the road the following Monday. I told him that this truck will have a six as long as I own it. What he doesn't know is that if i ever get my hands on his '37, I'm putting a six back in it as well. I don't hate the big block, just have no use for one. Anyway, I almost broke my phone when your video hit my algorithm. Could NOT believe it's that same tan '37 I fell in love with half my life ago! Still looking amazing, STILL hurting feelings with a six. You just reminded me that there's a sweet 292 sitting between the trails of my '54. Gonna need a few more of these.

Here in Brazil we got, with the Chevrolet Opala and his 4100 cc engine inline 6 over 2000 horsepower and something like High-6s on the 1/4 mile. In this category, all cars run with Stock block/heads, H-partern, full build interior (with a roll cage, of course), no weight reduction: the cars has functional headlights and taillights, chrome bumpers, standart glasses... It worth to take a look. Even Daddy Dave and Murder Nova drove some of these cars in Velopark at late-2019/early-2020

I love it! Thanks for the kind words. It certainly is the same car. It's been running for 35 years and that darn boost knob keeps turning itself up!! In the mid 90's, it was making about 600-700 hp with about 22 lbs. Which was good for low 10's @ 128. Now we are doing 128 in half the distance! :) And yes, still 100% original Chevy Steel. We easily could have put fuel injection and carbon panels, but then it wouldn't be the original car to it's hot rodding roots. The surprising people and hurting V8 feelings is what keeps us going!!
