Whoa!! What a beautiful bike!!! Slim is one of the coolest, down to earth people I've ever met--good to know he was a part of this work of art!!

I am not a Harley guy. I have owned many motorcycles in my life and I will tell you right now I would love to have an old Harley flat head.

Great bike here. I was hoping that S&S Cycle would offer a complete 80 inch Flatty engine.

stunning, I bought 3 bigtwin barn finds a U a UL those are 46 and a 39 witch is busting my balls building, Im very close to de hinging it like yours, Love your bars and all the small details, Like you cloth wiring and all the small details make it pop. I just sold a oem offset springer I now wish I held onto, so I have a repop front end on mine with speedstersYour bike is very very nice, I don't think I would have cut those tanks they are worth way to much, I would have did it to some re pops but I understand the oem thing as Im running 51 to 52 oem tanks great job

1939 had a different transmission shift pattern than all other years. Are you running an original of use a different year?

Hi Scott, I'm glad I found this video. I live in Oakland, Ca and coincidentally am also building and putting together a bike with a 38 UL engine into a 1948 wishbone. I am hoping that I can get some information from you. I noticed you were running a 2 into 1 exhaust system. Did you have an issue with the front pipe as far as fitment into the squish pipe? I am having an issue doing this. Hope you get back to me. Thanks, Caesar

Hi, bud I owned one many moons ago. If I recall, the headers just fit into the exhaust port and bolt on the frame. In '71, they had to be custom made and then sent to a plating shop to get chromed. I'm so old, sometimes I can't think that far back...Lol.

this kind of bike , is what I want for my DAILY rider . not my 05 springer , decked out . WL or ul type with a 80 inch flathead like you got here is what I want , so I can go road or cowtrail whenever I want to . and my wifes from the island of mindinao in the Philippines . if I was going to ship a bike to Davao city and ride it up the coast to malita and don marcellino where my wife is from . I want a bike that's half roached out looking so I don't have to hurt the little bastards for trying to steal it all the damn time ! even though id have a hidden cut off switch . I'm taking a can am ride in offroader 4 wheeler as it is.....but it will be ridden around the mountain farm (17,000 acres) mostly or the beach and kept locked up otherwise .

? Hey.. . I owned a '39 ULH. Actually, my dad bought it at some Army/Navy surplus yard (I think in '59) along with a '41 WLA. I sort of took it over when I was in high school and ran them into the ground. If I would've known the value of things.. . naww. I was a stupid 14 yr. old idiot. No good on me.
