We had one like it when I was a kid belonged to my Granddad. I'd give anything to have it back.

That is an awesome tractor. It's in really, really, good condition. I wouldn't doubt the engine had the proper rebuild judging by the rest of it.

What a beautiful tractor! I've been thinking about either a Super A or a 140. I just love the older ones like this. It's what I grew up on.

What a relief to get a tractor with a working starter for a change! Looks like a good one. Next spring you will need to get some cultivators and put in a garden.

I like it! Good video, I'm currently working on getting a 1945 A running, that had been sitting for many years.

Damn nice little tractor. Sounds great even with the dis colored gas. Doesn’t appear to need too many repairs either. Obviously something is up with the charging system but that shouldn’t be too hard to figure out. Nice once over, looking forward to seeing the next video.

Where's the front belly lift? We had one of these when I was a kid. The planetary gear housing cracked on the rear wheel. Was a great tractor that my dad grew lots of food for us.

Check the generator tag. It will say 12 Volts if it's been converted. Delco system. A circuit. These were made with 6 volt systems, positive ground, but folks would convert them to 12 volts to get them to rollover faster for starting. You do have a fine example of a Farmall Super A.

Your square front axle beam and the heavy brace back to the rear of the engine should make your tractor an International Super A instead of a Farmall Super A. That is to say it is an industrial model. Some of these had a foot accelerator. The serial number would be the determining factor. It'S NICE!!! I have a 1941 Farmall A that has been my lawn mower for about 50 years.

Yes, I think somebody just put an industrial front end on it. The serial number indicates Farmall Super A. I love that tractor!

I can’t tell much from the camera? Is the A bigger than the cub. Not much correct? They look so close. Jim.

On camera they might look about the same size, but the A is definitely larger. Not much, like you say, but they are unmistakable.

Could you run a small modern bush hog with that? Like a 4ft? Would be nice to use to keep trails mowed.
@AntiqueCarsandStuff
Жыл бұрын
I think even a 4’ brush hog is best suited for tractors with a minimum of 20-25 hp. However, my guess is you would still be ok on a Super A as long as the brush you are cutting isn’t too thick. Basically “light duty” mowing should be ok, but thick stuff would not be advisable.

Have several M, and A models that have not been started in years. Should be able to bypass fuel tank with aux because those should be gravity feed fuel systems, correct??
