Just picked one of these up, it’s absolutely mint, the guy that sold it to me pulled it out of the mummy wrap himself. Love it.

Thanks TOW. Your close up at 6:25 helped me to positively identify the model number as a No4 Mk2 (mine is somewhat scratched so I could not see the markings). The rest of the markings show 6/49 PF 108xxx only a month older than yours and about 13000 rifles earlier. Thank you so much for your video. By the way, After cleaning the bore (lots of dust in it) took it to the range for the first time, it was a pleasure to shoot. Much more precise than me. I set the peep sight at 2, then shot 3 within one inch at 25 yards - no adjustments necessary. Then 3 shots within 2 inch at 100yd, and 3 shots within 3 inch at 200yd. The other 7 shots at 100 and 200 were on paper. Really enjoyed it. Thanks again!

I've looked around and can't find any info on the French ever making Lee Enfields. But IraqVeteran8888 has said some of the first Mosin Nagants were French.

WW2 from 1941 No4 Mk1 rifles were built in Britain ROF Fazakerley, ROF Maltby and BSA Shirley and No4 Mk1* were made at Long Branch Canada and Savage in USA. No4 Mk2 Rifles were built at ROF Fazakerley between Mid 1949 and end of 1955. ( Some No4s were built at Pakistan Ordnance Factory (POF) 1957 to early 1960s using British tooling.)
