Jan Morray…the ultimate game show host. I grew up thinking Jan Murray was a member of our family, he was in our living room so often. Amazing how much fun you can have with just ordinary stuff found around the house. Thank you for posting and bringing back fond memories.

For years, I never thought the day would come when I would ever hear a production of Dollar A Second again. But whoever put this tape here made it possible for me to hear it. That used to be my favorite show. When that show came on, I sat in front of the T.V. and wouldn't leave to even answer the phone. Thank you for having it here. I still like that show a lot.

I'm not old enough to have seen this in its original showing, but I remember seeing this episode on some kind of "Golden Age of Television" show, probably in the 1980's. It was a pretty entertaining show.

That's my Aunt Pat bringing out the contestants. This show and a 45 of 'Stairway to Paradise' and 'Oh, Johnny, Oh!' were her big show biz moments. I think this is one of the most entertaining game show concepts of the 50's.

1. So it was Pat O'Day who brought the contestants onstage, right? 2. If you adjusted this for inflation, it'd be something like...oh, I don't know..."$10 a Second"?

Jan was savvy enough to have ownership of the three shows he created - this, Charge Account and Treasure Hunt. Chuck Barris revived that last show - twice!. Later Jan was the annual host of the Chabad Telethon in LA.
