Third test run. Topped up the gearbox as it was a bit below level. Only issue noted was slack fan belt on return. Stayed at indicated 80C, and excellent oil pressure. Plan to take "Bertie"on the SSVVVC "Drive it day" * run tomorrow. Leo an English Pointer rescue dog from Lesbos seems quite content in the back. Pepper the Toy Poodle really wants the front passenger seat all to himself and that will be the case most of the time. Note the Desmo poodle mascot now on the bonnet is place of the rearing horse table lighter that was on the car when bought at ACA. Its also now lost the thick yellow side coachlines and the longer term plan is to repaint the boot lid all black, redo the headlining and fit 4.22 diff. Could have done with twin sun visors today but have just won the Ebay auction for an A30 matching pair in good shape. Very pleased with this car and the excellent work and effort put into it by the last owner. Action car bought unseen can be a gamble and our experience with 1950's Austins was nil. Very experienced with 1920 ones, particularly the 20hp models and the 1938 Seven special now about 15 years.
