This first-year 1956 Eldorado Biarritz had a build date of February 20, 1956. It was shipped to Portland, OR, and then to Medford, OR, where it was picked up by its first owner on March 15, 1956. It has undergone a total body-off-frame restoration to concours specifications by the owner, who has been a professional restorer for over 40 years. This Bahama Blue Cadillac took 10 years to complete and was finished in 2016. It has the factory-correct numbers on the 365ci 8-cylinder engine, automatic transmission, carburetors, rear end and air-conditioning compressor that is still supporting R12 Freon. This Eldorado is correct throughout, including the valve stem with the nickel cadmium-plated cap. 1956 was the first year that Cadillac put the K option for air conditioning in their convertibles. This car has that option on the ID tag just as it did when it left Cadillac’s assembly line. Included in the K option is the Speed-Up control on the side of the correct dual Carter 4-barrel carburetors. Lot #1336 Sold for $275,000 with commission.
