1968, my father gave me this tank for my first car at the age of 16. Had so much fun and packed with friends and memories. going to the beach and the drive-in! All seats were filled

Wow, those were and still are beautiful cars. Plenty of power, room and STYLING, which is sadly missing from todays cars. Sophomoric copies of every auto maker's "signature vehicle" make today's parking lot vehicles almost indistinguishable.

So true, Rivet. I hope that the manufacturers become worker co-ops so that cars can be made to optimal rather than minimal standards.

@redmr2na 150 and 210 were series names. The 150 was the lowest-priced line, aimed at fleet buyers and budget-minded individuals. The 210 was the middle trim level, with more body styles and better appointments, and the Bel Air was the luxury leader. As for horsepower and displacement, you could have gotten any '57 Chevy with any engine and hp rating that Chevy had available. I hope I've been of help, and I'm happy to hear of your great interest in these wonderful classic cars!

The late 1950s was a great time to be in America...post-Red Scare McCarthism, and pre-Vietnam War.

I had a 57 Nomad wagon. It was huge by today's standards with three rows of seats, the two rows in the rear folded down to make a cargo space about the size of todays Ford F150's!

Nomads never had 3 rows of seats.

Great commercial. I actually thought the people at Chevrolet cared about their customers as i watched it.

I still don't see the beauty in 1950s cars. And I can remember the picky fabrics used on the seats. Picky meaning like pins and needles. I'm from the 6Os where everything was delightful, clean lines and modern design.

I'm just now starting to educate myself about these cars, and I have a question. I've heard these cars described as 150 or 210s, what was the difference? I'm I right in thinking it was hp? Or was it Displacement?

sucks that today there are 2 kinds of cars that are all plagerized: the sad jellybean of an excuse for a sedan or the rip off minivan called an SUV

Life was good then if you were white and a male, people didnt act as polite as tv portrayed. Cars were good then but life could have been better.
