Great job guys! My parents had a 57 Plymouth many years ago. It was a coupe with a large engine, with two four barrel carbs, and duel points.

3713msg Thanks! Wow! I'm assuming your parents car wasn't a Fury, if not any 57 or 58 Plymouth that's not a Fury and still had dual four-barrel carbs is really rare. Would you happen to know the size engine it had?

I don't know what engine it had, as I was only a small child. I do remember the two four barrels. I also remember dad saying he would never mess with the points for a tune up, as it had two sets of points. He was afraid it would not run right, if he messed with the points. He would just replace the plugs. The car was an off white Belvadere. and it had gold trim. It also had the 1 and 2 pushbuttons, so it was a 3 speed transmission. We bought a new 1964 Ford Galaxy to replace the Plymouth, and I remember my dad saying that the Ford was not near as fast as the old Plymouth was. My parents have been gone for many years, so I cannot tell you any more about the car. Keep up the good work! These cars were VERY rust prown. Ours was very rusty by 1964. You could see the street looking down at the floorboards! I remember that also. LOL!! Good luck to you!

3713msg Your parents did not have belvedere, the gold trim and 3-speed transmission told me right away that your parents actually had a 57 Plymouth Fury!! one of only 7,438 ever produced!! Most likely that car had a 318 small block in it.

Interesting! I guess I don't remember it being a Fury. I was born in 1955, so I was only 9 when it was traded for the 1964 Galaxy. I liked the styling of the car, even as a little kid. I remember thinking that the Ford was boring by comparison. And I still feel that was today! I will subscribe to your channel so I can watch the progress.

That wasn't a belvedere that was a fury they were all white with gold trim 318 two fours and dual point ignition they also had a 150 mph speedometer. I had a 57 belvedere conv 318 two barrel with three on the tree. Oh I forgot the fury had a swivel drivers seat.
