When I took off the slow idle top one out small aluminum piece stayed on screw the one with the sharp point do I have to seal that back in the carburetor I never had this happen but I only did a couple of carburetors 6 hp

hey I have a 1958 jhonson 10hp out bord that I'm trying to get running good but it seems to be surging at low idle and when I disconnect the fule line there seems to be a bit of water spraying out the air side when it surges aney suggestions ?

Very helpful vid. I am working on a 1961 18hp Evinrude so this was great to see. Can you tell me if backing out the needles is a standard 1.1/2 turns back on both fast and slow?

You should count the turns when you disassembled it

I got a 30 hp 1956 Johnson sat in a basement 50 years put coils on and water pump got it running waiting on carb kit can’t find the paint for it it’s called Holliday bronze looking everywhere is there anything close

I have a 57 18hp Johnson Sea Horse, about to rebuild the carb on it, how much different is the process? It seems to be really similar.

Close to the same take pictures then you can always see the way it was until I get familiar with stuff I take lots of pictures it helps when you can’t remember like me

could you maybe explain what breaks to cause the propeller to stop spinning. 1957 golden jubilee shifts put won't spin the prop?

apparently not! every kit i buy the needle seat wont screw in! hmmm also what did you use to polish the needles with??

@@BlackoutBilll21 0000 steel wool is pretty good for polishing needles and if you want to be fancy, finish with autosol metal polish

Charles Kile if it’s an early fifty’s model, you might need to tighten the outer needle bushing casing screw
